Good for struggling readers.
Got this for my 10 year old reading at an ending 2nd grade level. Story is funny and not babyish. Lots of text he can be successful with. Also a great story.

Fun!
My son is in 2nd grade and these books are just right for him. He has read the whole series. They have a good mix of words and pictures and the stories are clever. My son enjoys reading and he is a good reader (for which I am thankful) and also enjoys books like the "How to Train Your Dragon" series, but I know when he reads Melvin Beederman he really gets the whole story. We still read together every night and I found these books a pleasure to read with him. You have to appreciate any books that make your kids laugh out loud!

Bought for classroom
My boys all love Diary of Wimpy Kid. However, there are only so many books in that series. This book was something that came up as similar to Diary of a Wimpy Kid. My boys love this book. I know there are more in the series and I am waiting for a good price so I can buy them.

Great book
My son (6) can read but wasn't really interested in reading for pleasure. I ordered Melvin Beederman, Superhero, and had it delivered in his name. He opened the package and started reading. We read a chapter a night. He was so proud of himself. This is a silly, fun, exciting book for reluctant readers. Highly recommended.
