Very good book, well written!

This is the ULTIMATE Book, covering the Ultimate Beloved Band, Fleetwood Mac. This band has a long & interesting history, covering the transition of the band, from a Blues Rock Band, to a Pop Rock Band. Fleetwood Mac was originally founded in 1967, and they have endured all kinds of issues, such as Sexual Affairs within the band, divorces, betrayal, breakup,& heartache, reconciliation, drug & alcohol addition. They have endured the resignation of Christine McVie from the band. This book is full of sex, drugs, and Rock & Roll. However, they have also enjoyed triumpt & sucess. Them & their songs are still very popular & loved today.Fleetwood Mac is on Tour this year 2013. I already have my tickets. Everyone in the band is over 60 years old, and this may very well be their last tour.It's very interesting to read about all the details that went on behind the scenes. Plus, it interesting to read about their classic 1977 album "Rumours", which is probably one of the greatest Rock Albums ever. Plus, it's interesting to read about their various classic rock hit singles.This book is packed with information, illustrations, and photos.This is essential reading for any serious Fleetwood Mac fan, and I am one. This book is the Ultimate Reference Book on Fleetwood Mac. I highly recommend this book. It's the Ultimate Book on Fleetwood Mac.

Habe dieses Buch mit großen Erwartungen erstanden und wurde beim Auspacken kaum enttäuscht: ansprechende Größe, wunderbar hochwertige Aufmachung und beim Durchblättern einige hochinteressante Bilder gefunden. In diesem Moment hätte ich ohne große Zweifel 5* vergeben.Allerdings sollte auch der Inhalt der Hülle in nichts nachstehen und da hakt es etwas: ich hatte mir die basalen Informationen zu Fleetwood Mac schon im Internet zusammengelesen und jetzt nicht unbedingt viel neues erwartet, allerdings auch überhaupt keine Überraschungen serviert bekommen. Das Investigative geht dieser "Definitive History" von Fleetwood Mac in jedem Fall ab: man bekommt den chronologischen Werdegang der Band serviert, nicht mehr und nicht weniger, prinzipiell ist das aber auch genau das, was der Titel verheißt.Was mich persönlich gestört hat, und weswegen ich für den Inhalt auch maximal 3* vergeben kann, ist der unfassbar monotone Schreibstil des Autors und sein kaum geniales Aneinanderreihen der Fakten ohne ein bisschen Ambition zur Unterhaltung. Das wirkt ein bisschen so, als stände man wieder auf dem Schulhof und irgendein Kind, das cool sein und unbedingt Eindruck mit seinem Wissen über die tollsten Bands schinden will, rattert einem die ganzen phantastischen Fakten zu Fleetwood Mac runter. "Ja, ist ja gut", möchte man da sagen, weil die Recherche bestimmt auch Mühe gemacht hat. Aber es fehlt die Leidenschaft; was Fleetwood Mac und ihre Musik eigentlich so großartig macht, kann der Autor mit keinem Wort transportieren."Fleetwood Mac: The Definitive History" ist somit ein schönes Buch zum Blättern und bietet Albuminformationen, Chartplatzierungen und einen Ablauf des regen Wechsels in der Zusammensetzung der Band; ist dabei aber eher trocken und vor allem aufgrund des hübschen Bildmaterials letzten Endes sein Geld wert.
