Great Concept, Poor Implementation
I really like the concept of this door, but the implementation isn't very accurate. I have two cats that use the door; I had one of them re-chipped because the door only read her chip occasionally, so I thought the chip was placed too far back on her shoulder. The cat has to enter the little tunnel for the detector to read the chip, so we had the new chip put as far up on her neck as possible. This seemed to work for a couple of months, but then the door will sporadically stop letting her in. For $550 I expect the technology to work all the time, and it doesn't. If we didn't have a serious skunk problem I'd get rid of this door and go back to our original door that had a simple vinyl flap (and cost $250).An additional issue is the lack of weatherproofing around the hard plastic door - you can feel cold or hot air coming in from outside, and there doesn't seem to be a way to add weather stripping.

do not buy it from them!
came over a week late, put together improperly, had to fix it myself. once i fixed it the door is great!
