Bona Free & Simple Hardwood Floor Cleaner - 36oz Spray

I'm a long-time Bona user, but had a different result with this 'PowerPlus' product than I had with the everyday ready-solution cleaner. My recommendation: Be careful using this product. Directions say to NOT dilute it. I'm an instruction follower and didn't dilute it. It did cut through my grime, but left a terrible sticky film on my floors that required 3 (yes, three) moppings with just hot water to remove the film. I have a feeling that this product should be diluted. If I get brave enough to use it again, I'll dilute it and let you know if it performs better. For the moment, I'm a little 'mop-shocked' with the effort it took to fix the stickiness and am reluctant to try it again.

I have used Bona for years and gave the Power Plus a shot. Somehow it smells just like the other Bona solutions in the bottle, but the aftermath when using it is AWFUL! The entire house reeked of sweaty feet and wet dog. I thought at first somehow the cleaning pad was sour even though I wash them after every use. Nope. Same god awful stench permeated the house after the second and third attempts with the new solution. I ended up dumping what was nearly a full bottle down the drain and went back to the usual Bona hardwood solution and no problems since. If someone can explain this science as to how it goes from smelling normal to hammered dog butt as soon as it hits the floor, please fill me in!

It’s a fantastic product. It does well what’s intended to do: deep clean.My only complaint is the smell. Oh boy! It stinks. The smell over powers any essential oil I mix with it to disguise the “stinkeness “

I have used a Bona product for years. Their advertisement always says it doesn’t leave a sticky residue. I have tried several of the different Bona products and they all leave a residue. When I walk on the floor with my slippers they stick. This is right after the floor was clean. I switched to Method floor cleaner it looks just as good as Bona but there’s no sticky residue.

The ladies who clean our house specified this product for me to buy; I had not had any previous experience with it. Our hardwood floors (red oak) are about 55 years old and looked rather worn. I don't want this to sound (or read) like a commercial, but our floors now look close to new. The difference is amazing. If they were waxed, you would compliment me on our new wood floors. This is clearly a great product and I am grateful to our cleaning ladies.
