Creative Motion Metallic Motion Lamp, 16-Inch, Blue

I always wanted one of these and my favourite colour is blue so i decided to go with this one as the blue and silver combination is nice. I plugged it in before i went to sleep. The light itself is not to bright, which is good for me because i am using it as a night light. I guess the wax took about an hour or a little more to heat up because i woke up about 2 hours after and the wax went from being a hard looking piece of blue rock to a soft jelly like liquid. It was amazing for me to see finally. I looked at it for about five minutes until i forced myself to go back to sleep. It plugs into an outlet, and the cord also has an on/off switch which is great. The size of it is also not very small, which is good to. The only thing i don't like about it is, the water itself looks a bit cloudy and not clear. I don't know if that's how it is or if it will clear up in time.

The one I bought before this form the same place (here) the water was crystal clear and the wax an amazing silver (even though I had ordered blue, I felt I was lucky as silver was my first choice but couldn't find it). This one, the water is so cloudy you can barely see the wax...which has no metallic appearance. It's been running for a long time and there is no improvement. I suspect this lamp is a hit or miss kind thing. I got lucky with the first one (until it broke after a few months) but the new one is awful. Ended up throwing it in the garbage. SO disappointing.

As others have stated our lamp did not start blue, it looked more silver. my wife and I like the action and felt that it would be acceptable for our purposes. I noticed some faint text on the side of the box stating that using the light through a few cycles the material would turn blue. It was interesting to see the transition take place. After a few days the moving drops were blue.Now after several weeks of constant use We have had another transition from blue to pink to a very pleasing red.

Not as good looking as in the picture and can be hard to assemble. The first lamp that was shipped wasn't fitted properly and led to large amounts of frustration as I tried furiously to install a lamp that just wasn't going to fit. The second one was easier but still frustrating. When I finally got it turned on I was expecting magic due to the difficulties from putting it together, but again I was disappointed. This lamp is fun to watch and looks pretty cool, just not as cool and fun as I expected.All in all, just keep your expectations reasonable and you'll be satisfied for sure. Remember it's just a lava lamp.

I've been an owner of an original Lava Lite lamp for 15 years or better and recently purchased two more and they both got returned. I gave it one last shot with this one and I can say that this is a quality lava lamp for it's price. The glass has very few bubbles the liquid is crystal clear and the overall design is nice. The only problem is that sometimes wax can get stuck on the inside of the bottle and make it look dirty. Otherwise this was the best lamp you could get for the money.

It looks cool and doesn't get too hot. Only problem is it looks too much like a light/lamp and not enough like a trippy glowing object. What I mean is, it has that bright soft white light glow, kind of like a nightlight. But I do like the way the lava moves and flows for the most part. It's kind of a clean flow, meaning the bubbles don't mix and swirl together but retain their separate spherical shape and just bounce off each other.

I don't write that many review, but I feel the need for this little fella. I understand it have only a B-average at best. The problem is the quality control of those light. It's hit or miss. If it works, then it's perfect. If not, then just exchange for another. Mine didn't get 5 stars because even it was not cloudy and functioning. It appeared to have few scratch or debris inside the lamp. Again. It's quality control. Mine is not perfect. Hope yours would be.

Bought this for my desk. It is not exactly a "light source" if that is what you are looking for although with the lights out it does illuminate the immediate area around it. It is a very cool little lava lamp. Does not get too hot. It does exactly what I wanted it to do..light a dark little corner of my desk with coolness and actual light. As Brick Tannen once said..."I love lamp".I recommend purchasing this item.
