This dish and cover are beautiful....Best glass container I have ever seen.... so lovely!!Great with a cover.... Use it in the oven all the time.

3.5 quart casserole is a good size, nice looking and versatile with the raised top. Stores easily with the top inverted and nested in the bottom. I have not used it extensively so cannot comment on durability, but I purchased it because borosilicate glass is more durable then alternatives. I could not find a better price for the quality. It arrived packaged extremely well and with no breakage.

I purchased this Simax Clear Round Glass Casserole/ With Lid, specifically to bake sourdough bread. The first one had a piece of glass broken off of the edge of the lid when I took it out of the box. Amazon quickly replaced it with no problem.The second one worked great the first time I used it!! I was in love!The second time I took it out to use, the same area on the rim, had a large sliver of glass broken off. It sets on its own pull out drawer. No banging against any other kitchenware. I am afraid to use it with the large sliver of glass broken off; I am afraid glass with be in the bread.So now what do I do? Order a third one and hope for the best; or just simply give up. I trusted that it would be reliable since it was made in Europe and not China. Sad to say, this one gets a 1 rating.

First time we used it the rim of the lid chipped and got glass in our food and we had to throw it out.

I pretty much love everything about this casserole dish. I use it frequently and it's nice to know I can put whatever meat I am having for dinner in the oven to braise and then go up to shower and not worry about burning or over cooking as long as I've timed it right. When we eat the meal, which I add vegetables to toward the end, usually, I just give the dish a quick rinse and into the dishwasher it goes coming out sparkling clean. No Teflon to worry about or any other unhealthy qualities. It's really good for someone like me who is home and can cook something over a couple of hours to come out tender and juicy.
