Wasn't sure what to expect, as the photos just look like cheesy galvanized sheet metal, but the mfg did a thorough job on this product. The edges are almost all folded back on themselves for extra strength and rigidity, plus it eliminates most of the potentially sharp edges. It's a solid, heavy-duty item. Both ends slide out to fit the window frame, which, if you're not using the full length, gives you some flexibility on where you place the vent opening in the window opening, in case it matters.Installation was a breeze, the hardest part being crawling in behind shrubbery to remove the window screen, which on my windows need to be removed from outside. It fits snug and solid, although I'll probably seal the top with a strip of weatherstripping to fill the tiny spaces bugs could get in. It would have been nice to have a 36" strip of sticky-back foam weather strip included, for the price, but no such luck, meaning a trip to Home Depot. And that's maybe the only downside of the product - the price. It's a bit steep, but since I've found nothing similar in style or quality, they get to do that! I had the option of not paying it, of course, and trying something else, but it turns out I'm very happy with my purchase. A well-made product that does its job effectively - can't ask for more than that!

We are remodeling in stages. New exterior vinyl siding, had to remove old dryer vent to the outside. Waiting until we can convert old laundry room to extra bathroom before replace. This window vent works perfectly until we can decide where we'll re-locate washer dyer. Sturdy & snug, does not look horrible inside or outside. Could leave up indefinitely if need to. We may need to use a few small pieces of weather strip in corners come winter, but otherwise perfect fit.

Just installed it in 10 minutes.So far love everything about it .(My third one and so far the best).The screen in the vent is stable and not flimsy like the other ones.It’s easy adjustable and fits perfectly in my window!!!It’s a keeper!!!

I ordered this to use in my lake cabin, as there was no external dryer vent installed when they built the house. Needing what I thought would be a temporary solution, I found this Vent Works product and decided to give it a try...boy am I glad I did.The item arrived when expected, and I could immediately tell it was of very high quality. I must admit that I was expecting something relatively flimsy, however, this is substantial and heavy duty. I opened the window, removed the screen and inserted the window vent. Then I connected the vent duct and I was ready to go. Literally took less than 30 seconds to install. We like to keep the window closed when we're not using the dryer, and because it is so easy to install into the window frame, we put it in each time we use the dryer.In conclusion, what I thought would be a temporary solution, has impressed me so much, it will now be by permanent solution. Money well spent and kudos to Vent Works for creating such an impressive and easy to use product, made in the USA!!!

I needed to vent a new dryer I purchased out of a window, I found this product and after using it for two months I find it review worthy. This vent is heavy duty, slides out to fit the window opening and works like a dream, when I have to dry a load of laundry I lift up the window screen and secure it with a clothes pin, put the vent that's attached to a flexible dryer hose into the window, close the window to the top of the vent and turn the dryer on and remove it when I'm done, the vent is made so well I expect it will last for years. I just wish it didn't cost so much but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one as a gift for someone or recommend it as a great alternative to drilling a permanent vent opening thru a wall.Update; Well it finally happened I put wet clothes into the dryer and lifted the vent to put into the window, my hands were wet and the vent slipped out of my hands falling approximately 40 inches to the tile floor after bouncing off my dryer, the dryer has a small scratch and the tile has a small dent in it but the vent suffered no damage at all and that my fellow reviewers is how well this vent is made.

Purchased this to vent an XTool laser engraver out a window in the garage. The sliding side panels on the product allow you to size it your window, however they are just slightly smaller than the main piece with the vent hood. You'll notice this once you push down the window pane onto this vent panel and it is flush with the central piece; you will then see light gaps on the left and right sliding panels. I took some of the foam packing material and taped it to the sliding side panels to fill in those gaps so the window can rest on it as flush as possible. When exhausting the XTool engraver through a duct to this vent the fan could barely open the metal security flap leading to the smell of smoke remaining inside, so I had to prop it open from the outside. I have since added an inline fan in the duct after the laser engraver, and the added force from this opens the metal flap about 1/2 way; better ventilating the space. We initially thought we'd leave this in the window with some security clamps, but have since decided to just place this vent panel in the window when we want to run the xTool engraver and keep the window closed the rest of the time. If you plan to leave this in 24/7, note you'll also likely want to purchase some items you'd normally buy for a window a/c unit: window security clamps, foam inserts to squeeze between the window panes that now allow bugs and drafts to come in, and some kind of solution to fill in the gaps at the top of this vent panel so the window rest flat on top. Would give 5 stars for product if: 1) it included some kind of foam/insulated trim the customers cut themselves and stick on the adjustable side panels once the customer has sized the vent to the window and 2) if there was an easier way to prop open the metal security flap in the design like some kind of basic lever. Otherwise the build quality of the product is sturdy and machined well.

I was very happy with the dryer vent. It fit perfectly in my window. It is working fine.
