Arranged Marriage, Enemies to Lovers, Historical Romance
4.5 StarsI've had this book on my shelf for a couple of years now, and I honestly don't know why it took me so long to pick it up. It had all the markings of being a book I would love, and it was. August and Evan, Duke of Rothschild, were some great characters and the perfect place to start with this series. I will definitely be continuing this series.August, an American heiress, had only been planning on visiting London for the summer, but shortly after arriving it appears she's going to have to spend her summer making sure the Duke of Rothschild doesn't marry her sister. But in focusing on her sister, she might miss that the Duke as actually set his sights on her. Evan's father didn't handle the accounts properly, and now his family is about to lose everything. Marrying wasn't in the plan, at least for a few more years, but the Crenshaw's might be exactly what he needs. Though, if he's going to marry, it's going to be to someone of his choice, someone he can respect.I love the fun twist on the fortune hunter trope, Evan, the Duke being the one in search of a fortune and I love that at the end of the day, he saw August for who she really was and he respected her for it. I love that he fought to give her what she wanted from the start (though I wish he had actually told her what he was trying to do). And I appreciate that August never wavered in her wants when it came to Evan. I love the way their relationship developed throughout the story, and I liked the introduction to the side characters that will be the main focus of other books in the series. This is one I would recommend to anyone who enjoys the following.✔️ Enemies/Antagonists to Lovers✔️ Fortune Hunter✔️ Arranged Marriage in the Works✔️ Grumpy/Sunshine Vibes✔️ Historical Romance✔️ Banter✔️ Third Person Dual POV

Loved it!
* Victorian high society* FMC is more concerned with working for the family business than marrying an eligible bachelor.* MMC is not the typical bachelor, nor does he want a typical wallflower.* Marriage of convenience (he needs to marry into money, she’s protecting her sister from a loveless marriage)It’s a great time-period story.Perfect for fans of Bridgerton!
