does the charging stand increase the range as well or make it more stable? the usb dongle range seems to be limited

Hello! The Jabra Evolve 75 charging stand gives you a convenient place to store and charge your Evolve 75 headset. It offers no functionality other than to charge the headset. The Bluetooth range of the Evolve 75, as a Class 1 device, is up to 30 meters (100 feet). Thank you.

Do you still need to plug in the link 370 adapter even if you have the e75 charging station also connected to your computer?

There is no need to plug in the adapter if you are connecting your device via Bluetooth. The cradle is to charge the device, not to connect it. If you wish to connect your device via USB, then the adapter (extra cable) is what you would use.
