ZODIAS Casting

This rod is as light as a feather and beautifully balanced. (Medium Heavy 7'2 fast action) Used in combination with a Scorpion MGL Baitcaster it is amazingly responsive, you can feel everything your lure is doing in the water. That's the good news. The bad news is that it was snapped at the tip on a 3lb bonito. I read that this happened to another person in a review, however his was stepped on when it broke. It's reasonable to believe that you shouldn't step on your rods or that you can lose a tip when striking your rod against the bed of a truck. Bonito are strong fish but not so strong at that size that a rod should snap in any section. To further the issue I purchased this rod a week ago so it is essentially brand new. I put it right back in the tube and requested a refund. While fishing with it it has become addicting so I bought another one while waiting for the status of my return. I will revisit this and update my rating to 5 stars if I have no further issues. I'm hoping this was a defect in the rod I have. I have the spinning version as well paired with a Vanford 2500 (another amazing combination) and have had no issues at all with it at all. Let me be clear when I say that the one star rating is because the rod broke while fishing. However there are always the chance of defects during the manufacturing process. I really want to give this rod its due. It has completely changed my fishing experience. Believe me when I say I am rooting for this thing not to be a lemon. **Update** I didn’t want to wait too long to update this. It’s fair to point out a serious incident in a new rod breaking. However as I stated in the beginning, the feel and response of this rod paired with a Scorpion MGL is pretty magical. I purchased the 7’5” heavy fast action while waiting for my refund and again it’s like the most guilty pleasure. These Zodias rods are a bargain for all of the pluses they provide. They are unbelievably light and comfortable paired with a low profile reel. They look great in black with red accents. Lastly, they catch fish… And that’s why we buy them in the first place. This is a fine piece of Fishing equipment.

This is my first rod to step into $200 range fishing rods. I paired it with a left hand Scorpion DC 2021 and set it up for bass and some inshore small game fishing. However, the spotted trout season passed, and the TPWD closed the flounder fishing last year. So I do not have enough opportunities to try it on redfish/flounder(2nd for me) and speckled trout (1nd for me) last year. It has many improves compared with $100 range rods, such as blank/reel seats and the guide rings(most important). I might try to get a DAIWA rebellion later on to see what different.

I use this rod with a 21 shimano Antares dc and it’s amazing . I use st croix legend extremes mostly and figured I’d give this one a try . It is by far my favorite daily rod. You can’t beat the quality or price . Sensitive with the backbone to pull in the big ones . Going to buy a couple more . Only beef is the lure tie is behind the reel on the handle ,but it’s not a deal breaker

Best rod on the market. Ive fished loomis, st Croix etc. I own 2 (2020) zodias and 1 poison adrena. In 7'2 md/hvy its as sensitive and feels as light as my adrena but i actually have more confidence in the zodias. Its balance, sensitivity and strength is unparalleled in my opinion. There are rods out there that compare.. Not necessarily out perform and every one of the rods that compare are 400-600$ .. You won't ever buy anything else once you start fishing Shimano

Wow this thing is EPIC… Super light one of the lightest fishing rods I think I’ve ever held in my head superstrong fast action this thing is the way to go if you are looking for a great fishing rod
