Q: Is this a flake like crystal like maldons english sae salt?

In looking at my box of Maldon sea salt flakes, I would say the French Grey sea salt in the bag I purchased is finer, and more of a granular shape than a flake. It's my first bag so I don't know if that's common to that brand.

I truly don't know . but I love this wet French salt we keep a jar on our dining table always !

Yes, the moisture will make it hard to grind. It is generally used to salt everyday stuff without grinding. I often use it to salt meats before cooking and add it in the course of cooking to soups, stes etc. You can buy fine ground grey salt instead (or the fleur de sel which is usually a finishing salt).
