I loved the illustrations and gentle story
I loved the illustrations and gentle story, which complement each other beautifully. The ending is open-ended - I was left a bit confused, but my two sons said they had figured it out and they liked the ending.

It is ultimately a story of love, loss
This story deals with the difficult subject of death in ways that won't scare young readers. By not making all the elements of the story explicit the author creates opportunities for parents to explore with the meaning with the child. It would be an especially helpful story to read to a child when a grandparent does die. It is ultimately a story of love, loss, magic and hope beautifully told with illustrations that perfectly capture the mood of the book. Look for the cat on every page!

Beautifully illustrated
I really love the style in which this book is illustrated, as did my ten year old son. The story deals with the thoughts and ideas around death in a way that children can relate to without it being thrust upon them.

Amazing story
I really enjoyed this story. It would be perfect to use for a child suffering bereavement and maybe even an adult too. The illustrations are wonderful, the artist is very talented!! I look forward to more from Carri and Lisa. A real feel good short story to take your mind off problems of the world!!
