Wide enough for a real man!
When it comes to light weight sleeping bags, this one is king. Wide enough for a real man. Center zipper. Tough. Light weight. Packs nices.

I originally purchased this bag to use as an over bag for my Marine Corps (3S) 3 season bag (which is also a center zip). The recon bag seems to be pretty sturdy. The outside bottom of the bag and inside foot box are made from a 210D Nylon Oxford which seems durable, but on bare feet inside the bag feels weird. The top portion of the bag and the inside are made from the softer 210T rip stop nylon. There is plenty of inside room though and will make a nice warm weather bag.The bag compresses very nice and I can fit it in the same seal line sack with my 3S.The only negatives I have found is the size of the zipper (No 8 spiral zip) I think an9 or 10 would have been better, also the zipper is only a one way, meaning only zips up there is no second slider. The Velcro on the storm flap can be a little irritating as well when manipulating the zipper.Overall I like the bag, just need to get out and use it.

... a rare case of a sleeping bag that's actually comfortable at its rated temperature
This might be a rare case of a sleeping bag that's actually comfortable at its rated temperature. For the sake of experiment, I took it out on a moderately chilly PNW night (34 F / +1 C), together with http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008JXV2PM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and an air mattress, zipped myself inside it pretty much naked, and spent 20 minutes like that. I was not cold at all by the end of the exercise - the inside warmed up and stayed warm (the Gore-Tex bivy cover probably worked as another layer, and added a few more degrees to the effective rating).

Tight fit for large shoulders
If you have broad shoulders or a barrel chest like me, you'll find this bag difficult to zip closed, and it will be very tight around your shoulders.Quality wise, it is excellent
