My teenage son requested a steampunk theme birthday, and this package of embelleishments provided the decorative finishing touch I was seeking.The pieces arrived intact and as pictured online. They are made of an inexpensive alloy rather than plastic sprayed with metallic paint (which I also have.) The weight of these gears is perfect for crafting/jewelry making. I find that because of the slightly heavier material, they rest more naturally when being used as a pendant versus their plastic counterparts.I used these to embellish a leather bound journal I purchased for my son as well as "confetti" around the centerpiece on the table for his party.These were precisely what I wanted and at a value price.***The larger gears/embellishments on the journal were purchased separately.***

I love these. . A lot.Very versatile charms. . They don't have a designated string hole, so you aren't limited to putting them on jewelry or items of the sort but you CAN still use them for jewelry.You can glue these to mixed media, you can paint them, string them, or even sew them onto things. . Add them to resin projects or throw them in a jar. .The material is alloy. . Normally, alloy is a mix of two or more metals but to me it feels somewhere between a hard plastic and aluminum. I personally like it because they are really light and easy to work with. I use metallic accent paints on them and then heat set it and the paint holds up really well. So, there is a lot of room for creativity with these. And you get a bunch of them!I love 'em.

I ordered this product because in the description it stated size from 12mm to 40mm. 40mm is 1.57 inched. I needed at least a couple of them to be the claimed 40mm. That was the main reason for ordering these gears. There largest was 1”. You need to change the description. I will be asking for a refund.

This was an interesting purchase; one that I'm glad I bought for sure! The package arrived quickly and it is exactly as advertised- a good selection of gears ranging from 1 cm to 2.5 cm, and I had one gear (A single one mind) that was 4 cm wide. If you're a crafts person like me, then I would suggest this pack- the gears are sturdy and several aren't totally flat allowing for some more 3-d work.An interesting note- this gears aren't bronze as advertised (the pack I ordered.) but an alloy. As I will usually sand a surface before attaching it, I realized this pretty quickly- it's not hard to scratch away the bronze coloring to reveal a more silver tone below. So be aware of that, kay?

I refuse to keep something that I purchase new and then have to clean the burrs and gunk off because of POOR QUALITY CONTROL!!!!!! Do not recommend!!!!!

Actually loved these. I bought the gold ones to decorate my grad cap and got a lot of compliments. 4 stars because I was looking for gears that interlocked a little more, but these worked great still. I especially loved the gears in the assortment that had a heart cutout in the middle. Just as a note, most of them are pretty small, I would say average size for all the gears together is the size of a dime. This is what I was looking for, but just to inform your purchase! Also, they glue to fabric with Elmer's glue and a little blow dry or over night. I didn't attach them to a fabric which would be moving a lot, but it was very secure!.

I expected these to be very small but they're actually not small at all, so I couldn't use them for the purpose that I wanted them for.

Bought these to decorate a costume expecting them to be on the cheap, thin side given the price. I was pleasantly surprised to be very wrong. They are all a decent weight with clean edges and a nice bright finish. There were far more in the package than I had expected and the variety is wonderful. Would not hesitate to buy more of these or other products by this manufacturer.

Over half of the gears were bent, some very badly bent - or flat out broken. Terribly cast, even if most weren't damaged in some way, none of the gear teeth line up, quality control was nonexistent.Really not worth it for the quantity vs. price since so many are completely unusable. It was a waste of my time and money ordering these, don't make the same mistake. I'd give this zero stars if I could, I'm sending these back for a refund immediately.
