Looks to be well engineered. Picked the larger size so that the barrel would fit the thickness of my gate. Had to use a 26mm wood bit to drill through the gate.The lock assembly fitted easy enough and looks great.The stainless steel wood screws supplied are OK, but I would recommend predrilling the holes for these screws and use a Phillips screwdriver to install them.Would order another in a heart beat and would recommend to anyone. Easy to fit with DIY skills and a bit of common sense.Also lastly I think it's great value for money, considering the design and materials used.

Just Installed this. I found that to lock/unlock from the outside was easy, but the process was different from behind (in your garden) as this side of the lock Is sprung, meaning that unless you push the key In harder, you'll not be able to operate the lock. Despite this, It's rather good.

This product looked to be excellent, sturdy, easy to install. But 4 months later, the lock jammed. I am 1 month out of returns policy so have wasted my monies and will be looking for a different product now

This lock is a good solid piece of work, and well designed. Essential to follow the instructions carefully, to avoid having the lock working 'the wrong way round'. I had to 'deepen' the door I was installing the lock on by building it up slightly to the required thickness to accomodate the length of the 'barrel', but that was no big deal. Was unimpressed with the screws provided, and replaced them with my own. Finished job provdes excellent security for a new outbuilding, so well worth the money.

Fantastic.I can go out the garden gate and securely lock it knowing that nobody can in my garden.Reasuring.

Used less than two years and today I could not come home, because the lock is stucked and impossible to open. Luckily I could come in on the front door,but I am really disappointed, I loved this lock till today 🥺

I have a Gate mate lock on an outside gate which has worked really well over the last three years. I went to buy another for a gate leading to a lean to at the side of the house. I thought that I would try this lock as it was significantly cheaper than the Gate mate. It works as well as the Gate mate over the last year. The only negative would be that the steel bar has begun to rust even though it is protected from the elements. The Gate mate has no protection from the elements and hasn't rusted at all, so the quality is better. I would recommend this lock but doubt whether it will be as durable as a Gate mate long-term.
