Elementary: The Complete Series

Great series, not so great plastic case that could be improved.
Really enjoying this series, but like others have said you need to be real gentle removing the DVDs from the box just in case you snap a DVD and I don't like the idea of laying one DVD directly on top of another either. So case packaging could be improved but as for the series itself, love it !

Great TV Programme - Some DVD quality issues like some others
The quality of the show is well described on IMDB. I find it good entertainment. This full box set is a fine way to retain them to watch again, IF all the disks will play OK. As others have said, they might not. In my case only one disk (disk 5 season 6) was defective, but that does destroy the notion of holding onto a 'complete' set of all episodes. I think it's a great shame that has happened.

A great twist on an old story
I started watching this on Prime, really enjoyed the new spin on this and got through season 1. Then one episode into season 2 it suddenly went over to Paramount and they wanted (what was in my opinion) far too much money to watch either an episode or a season. Someone had definitely got greedy. So I bought this to secure all 7 seasons and to blow a raspberry at Paramount..... :) I shall now continue watching it for sensible money.

An excellent updating of a classic pairing
Having enjoyed Sherlock with it's very C21st British take on a Victorian sleuth I was doubtful about this series especially with the all too regular gender-swapping of a predominantly male character. Upon watching the first Series, before it was put on a subscription channel, I was impressed with Elementary. The main characters are well acted, well written and have long arcs minded with the procedural detectiving. The core elements are present but Watson is now an equal rather than a sidekick, this aspect becoming more apparent as viewer and characters progresses. Holmes is genius yes but harbours fallibility and vulnerability which is sensitively and sometimes frenetically depicted. Watson, just as insightful, could represent the human counterpointing the memory/analytical machine.Didn't realise the series had finished but so happy to find the whole thing in a box set. Fine for the winter and repeat viewing now has pride of place. It could only be better if the extras were more, modern offerings are nothing more than clipped interviews and soundbites AND there was a Play All option.Smoking jacket and glass of port at the ready, back to the fray.

Good product for the price but...
... it has one small problem. The packaging. There are two big plastic disc boxes. A couple of discs are on one another, so taking the last one is like defusing a bomb. You need to be very careful to not snap the disc in half or to damage the discs. I'll be moving the discs into a different box, where taking them out will be safe and the discs itself will be safe.Beside the bad packaging the content you get for the price is very good. A lot of behind the scenes material, very high quality of the episodes. I am a huge fan of many Sherlock Homes adaptations, this being one of my favorites. I recommend this beside its packaging flaws. You can't get better than that. (well Blu-ray would be a lot better but we can't get everything at once, right?)

Fabulous Show
I watched a few episodes on TV and then decided to get the box set . The stories and actors are superb. The variety of scenarios and the relationships between the main players are awesome .So why 4 stars . Well after series 1 , the DVDs started playing up by losing track of where you were last time . The result was that the dvd would run and ignored the control set . The solution was to switch off auto start and go manual in the dvd players settings . Annoying , yes , but elsewise the dvd quality is good though the actors are softly spoken at times so you have to rewind.
