M3.5 x 35mm Brass Extension Studs Ideal for Extending Sockets and Switch Screws x10

So, you live in a 125 year old house (originally lit by gas). Whomever wired (or, more accurately rewired) the place set the plaster depth boxes very deep. So deep that they had especially long screws (now old and corroded) that were barely a single turn on the thread. I come to replace switches and sockets with a shiny new chrome finish plate, but the fixing screws are way too short. These little gems are the solution! Solidly made, just screw the extender into the plaster depth box (adjusting the length as necessary) then the cover screws into the extender. A cheap and effective solution and useful to keep in your toolbox - just in case!

Used these blighters before, still think they are the best and only solution to poor workmanship of electricians who set plug sockets way to deep. Worth having a few in your toolbox if moving into a new build because some builders/electricians just don’t care.

Had 50mm Thermal plasterboard fitted which meant the original metal back boxes are way back now, trying to guide and line up the newer longer screws was impossible. Using these solved the problem in about 10 seconds flat.

Worked perfectly

Wanted these to extend outlets to fit plastering shields. You can make 1G shields from square-section plastic downpipe (cheaper than buying multiples of the real product).
