Works perfectly.
Well happy with this product second one purchased. This one is for my patio light and so far so good. The other one which was fitted for my front canopy driveway downlighters has been working now for at least ten years with no problem at all. Just make sure you work out the wiring diagram 🙄🤣. Totally recommended.

Vital terminal details omitted from wiring diagram.
The product itself was OK, but the electrical connection diagram gave no terminal designations at all. So you cannot be sure which terminal is for the live feed and which is for the lamp load. The wire colours given are meaningless, as the unit doesn't come with wires. The black bag which was supposed to be included for testing was missing.

Great value.
Easy enough to install in the line between mains power and the light. So far, comes on/off at the right time.

It does what it's supposed to do.
I have fitted 100's of these things over the years, both when I worked for the local council and when I was self-employed.When you know what you're doing, they are a piece of cake to fit, even child's play. If you don't know what you're doing, then you probably shouldn't be attempting to fit them in the first place. As for the instructions, if you are so dependent on needing the instructions, again, you probably shouldn't be attempting to fit them. All of the information that you need is moulded into the cell casing. The one thing that I would like to see is a slightly longer cell mount body. That would allow you to remove more of the outer insulation of the flex which would then give you more free cable to guide into the individual connection sockets on the photo cell. Don't get me wrong, it is doable as it is, but such a small change could improve it immensely.

Universal fitting allows simple replacement.
I bought the complete unit including the case, rather than just the cartridge as I was not sure of the extent of the fault with my outside lights and wanted to progress rapidly when the weather eventually improved. This new unit was virtually identical with my old one both electronically and physically.By the time the weather had improved, the fault had got worse and was eventually traced to another item suffering water damage, but I am glad to have a cheap useful spare photocell for an 11 year old system which has 2 such units.
