Hearth Country Ash Vacuum Only

Weak suction, after 2 weeks motor overheated and stopped working b

I use this with my pellet stove and works ok. The power is not great and you constantly have to bang on the canister to knock dust and ash off the filter otherwise it won't pick up anything. But I guess thats the price you pay for not blowing fine ash into your breathing space with a regular shop vac. It's a lot cheaper than similar ash vacs and included everything that you might need, but again the suction is not that strong...it doesn't suck...in a bad way

Bought it to clean the pellet stove. First few time it worked fine. I blew the filter out with a compressor every time I dumped the can. About the 5th time I used it It just blows ash everywhere. I used the sock over the filter from day one and the filter still gets clogged right away and has started to collapse because I can not get it clean with the compressor. I can not find a filter for it. If you have to relpace the filter every 3-5 uses, even when blowing out the filter, this thing is a waste.

The vacuum works well for ashes. Some of the scraped "chunks" don't make it all of the way to the can. Love the size of it and it's a bit quieter than our shop vac. The Country Hearth vac doesn't spit out fine particles while in use---Awesome! Also it's light enough and small enough for me to haul around (the wife). : )

I thought this would be great for my pellet stove. It is expensive, loud and doesn't pick up as well as my $40.00 shop vac. Very disappointed. THe only plus is the metal hose and the lack of dust. I had to add an outside filter to my shop vac to reduce the dust. I would not buy this item again and suggest others consider something else.

I admit, I was disappointed at first with how fast the suction seemed to diminish, but, considering what it was I was trying to pick up, it shouldn't have surprised me. I've learned to shovel out the majority of the coals and ash BEFORE I use the vacuum. It's perfectly fine for picking up what's left. And yes the filter does seem to clog fast, but you can extend the life by taking it outside, to an open area, and beating and shaking it like you would a rug. Just make sure you use a mask while doing so.

This was a total waste of my money.The first few times I used it, it was without problems. It then started to clog and spitting ash dust. I was told to contact the manufacturer but did not after reading the other reviews stating they were of no help. A new winter is starting and am in search of a new one.

Works like a charm.
