Mansfield Park

Hmmmm... ordered the Wordsworth Classics edition 4 times in total (Emma, Northanger Abbey x 2, Mansfield Park). All have arrived with varying degrees of damage / imperfections. For instance spines dented or creased, damage to corners and discolouration (edges turn white). This is possibly a combination of rough handling at the distribution warehouse and/or a design flaw. The cover is hardback and covered in a thin fabric which is coloured. I think the dye on the cover easily rubs off.I'm returning this copy of Mansfield Park and asking for a replacement. I hope it arrives in better condition.I also ordered Emma in the same order. It arrived with a slightly creased spine and 1 or 2 corners discoloured but decided to keep it.Originally ordered Northanger Abbey and it was damaged/discoloured along the top and bits at the bottom. Received a refund and decided to order another in case it was a one off. The next one I received was only slightly better. I decided to keep it as I like hardbacks over paperbacks.Overall, a "new" hardback for under £6 is a good deal BUT if you like to keep books pristine, are thinking of buying it as a gift, or you're a bit rough on your books this may not be the edition for you.Maybe good for those that like the worn -well read look.

I’m disappointed with the transportation for which I paid more than 50£ for the books to arrive like they’re old copies. It’s really sad because I was looking forward to this collection.

Arrived with a mark on the front cover and worn corners

Hatte dieses Buch extra als gebundene Ausgabe bestellt, weil ich gebundene Bücher eigentlich immer nur mit Fadenheftung kenne - und genau darum ging es mir. Leider aber hat dieses Buch eine Leimbindung und ist daher eher ein Taschenbuch mit stabilerem Deckel. Da besagter Deckel zudem an den Ecken und Kanten abgewetzt ist, gibt es hier nur 3 Sterne. Weil aber meine alte Taschenbuchausgabe inzwischen auseinanderfällt, werde ich das Buch behalten. Mal sehen, wie lange die Bindung bei regelmäßiger Lektüre hält.

The colour was faded from the corners and on the front and back. It is an expensive one so this should happen.
