My Best Pop-up Space Book (Noisy Pop-Up Books)

Good for my 3 year old!
I looked at this for my now 3 yo daughter for Christmas. I didn’t get it because I wanted a pop up book and this seemed tamer in the pop up realm compared to some others. I decided to get it for her birthday and I’m glad I did! It’s really designed well although I’ll say there isn’t a story ark. They could have planned the set up better. It starts with the Earth and ends with Mars and there is a natural progression that’s missed which would have been good for kids this age. I also wish it made more than one sound. There are many space sound bites that would have been cool. Overall I definitely recommend it.

great basic book, but could be better
Great book for a kid's first space book. I got it for my 3 year old who loved it. He made us read it to him over and over and even slept with it. He loved the sound too and couldn't wait to press it. The book has some basic information about the planets, our sun, star, mars etc but could have included a few more pages with more information considering the price. I just filled in details on my own to make the book last longer. Also, I agree with other reviewers in that the sound is too loud and I wish it was more than one sound.

Exactly what we hoped it would be
My 4 year old specifically asked for a pop-up space book for Christmas and I was a bit worried I wouldn't be able to find one but in comes Amazon with everything you could every want. This book has nice short bits of text throughout the pages so you can read a little or more depending on attention span for you child and age. It has lots of easy to digest facts and the planets "pop-up" but really they unfold to become larger when you turn the page which is so fun for little ones. This book is one that we watch closely because it's easy for a small child to tear the planets by mistake- simply by folding them back incorrectly or opening too hard. We're really pleased with this find.

MEH
This one gets a resounding MEH from the peanut gallery. If your tot has an interest in the solar system AND they can name planets...than this one might not be for you. This book is for children you hope to get interested in space, not ones who already are IMO. It features the sun, earth, moon, stars, and two pages of the astronaut's journey...from liftoff to zero gravity. The last page has no pop-up and is an incomplete picture of the solar system (nothing past Jupiter). My toddler didn't appreciate that.Honestly, we've seen better and think this is a little over-hyped.

Great first book, loud sound button
This is a great first book of space with minimal "pop up" features! The pages unfold to basically double the page size, nothing too fancy, nothing to break by closing it too fast. It is full of cute information to start a curiousity about space. It has an annoyingly loud button on it for blasting off a rocket... So, if you planned on this being a bedtime book, be warned! I bought it for a 3 year old, but my 6 year old likes reading it too.

Only one sound effect
This book only makes one sound, a rocket taking off. I thought it was going to be more interactive. Bummed. Other than that, it's cool.

There's sound!!
It should have been highlighted in bold (I somehow overlooked it) that there's a music button... which my daughter loves to press when we turn the pages, page after page... Sound of a blast off...Otherwise yes, it's nice basic introduction to space and planets.
