The Sicilian composer Vincenzo Bellini was among the most prominent representatives of Italian belcanto opera during the first half of the 19th century. This box set presents five complete opera recordings from the years 1989 to 1991 - Adelson e Salvini, Bianca e Fernando, Zaira, I Capuleti e i Montecchi and I Puritani. It features conductors specialising in belcanto: Richard Bonynge, Andrea Licata and Bruno Campella, alongside nternationally known vocal personalities, among them William Matteuzzi, Paolo Washington and Mariella Devia.

it is easy to download excellent brochures from the internet
This set of Bellini operas is a real find at a bargain price. The first 3 operas are rarely heard and real discoveries, well worth the cost of the whole set. The performances are amazingly good--live performances mostly from the Bellini Opera House in his home city of Catania. Most singers are first rate, if only a few are well known. While a brochure is not included, it is easy to download excellent brochures from the internet, with complete Italian libretti. Highly recommended.

Très beau coffret à petit prix. Les enregistrements sont soignés. Les interprètes sont de qualité . Ils ont su faire vibrer les plus beaux théâtres lyriques du monde. On se régale et à ce prix pourquoi s'en passer?
