Brace DirectMini Thumb Spica Splint – Thumb Stabilizer for Arthritis, De Quervain Tendonitis, Trigger Thumb & CMC/MCP Joint Support by Brace Direct – Small (Fits Wrist Circ. 5-6 in)

The media could not be loaded.  Haven't had this for very long and bought several variations to try. This is very comfortable to wear with enough padding not to rub even over extended periods of time. It allows for plenty of movement of fingers with no movement for the thumb as requested by my ortho. The only complaint I have are the metal pieces are very hard to bend to adjust to your hand. The velcro at the thumb area is perfect with 2 spots for the velcro to attach. However the brace across the pad of the thumb is stitched OVER the velcro, leaving only 1/3-1/2 of the velcro able to hold the wrist strap in place. It should be reversed. The perforated padding allows enough air movement so that even in NC, my hand isn't sweating outside. So far, a gentle soap rinse and towel squeeze dries it quickly with no additional wear. I wear a Small, my ring finger is a 4.75 and this is a great fit.

I was initially impressed with how this brace immobilized my thumb. However, within an hour I was experiencing pain not only from my thumb, but also across the top of my hand.My thumb was set rather far away from the rest of my hand which is not a comfortable or normal position. Also, there is a hard bar located between the thumb and top part of the brace covering the hand. This bar quickly caused discomfort across my hand.After removing the brace (I wore it for approximately 1 hour), my entire hand hurt including my index finger. I wasn’t sure if that was caused by the angle of the thumb or the stiff bar.I liked the look of this brace as it didn’t look like many that look like a full hand cast. With that said. I ultimately found the full hand cast looking brace I ended up with worked better and surprisingly provided me much more flexibility with the rest of my fingers.

I had originally ordered the small, but due to still having some slight swelling after surgery 6 weeks ago on my thumb, it fit snug. I ordered the medium in hopes of it being better. The medium did fit my thumb nicely, however, the rest of the brace was just big enough to be uncomfortable due to metal in the device hitting in the wrong places. I was so disappointed. It may have helped if in the description they mention to use caution when ordering if you still have swelling after surgery.

Would have been fine but velcro would not hold straight out of package. Unfortunately useless. Perhaps it was used not sure

I like the fact that it has less fabric to give support. However, it is supposed to be an extra small but the thumb is too big for me. It gives some support but not enough because the thumb is too large.

I sprained my MCP joint and needed a brace to support it. The drugstores all had "one size fits all" that don't really fit my small hand well. I found this brace on Amazon and used the sizing chart. It fits very well and provides the support I need much better than the generic sizing braces. Thank you for offering this product!

Great design thought...not executed well at all. Where it sits on top of hand causes horrible, lasting soreness, pain.

Really needed this now or would have sent back. However it seems to work for it’s purpose, but either it’s poor material that looks used or it’s a used item. But it works! And I was supposed to get it last week but when I went to see where at they said delivery would be February, but I called Amazon customer service and they got it to me earlier, maybe that’s why it looks poorly. But happy to have it
