Empire Fashions Colouring Book

18th century fashion.
I brought this book at full price for my personal collection. I colour purely as a hobby, one that I put an incredible amount of time and effort in to.I own quite a few of the Dover colouring books and always find them to be great quality for the price and this is no different. There are 45 illustrations and each page is double sided. The paper quality isn't great, the tooth disappears almost entirely within 2-3 layers of pencil. Fine liners and gel pens go straight through to the other side also. Each page provides information on the outfits and a general idea of the colours that would have been prevalent. An example of this is the quote: " The lady wears a pale satin tunic over a white gown." The historical information included in this book is well researched and a very nice touch. This isn't one of Dover's best books but for £3 It does give good value for money. I have included pictures from the book below to help you make your decision of whether to buy the book.

Mixed feelings
Not quite as I expected. Lovely drawings and accurate information of details of the outfits. For myself I was not all that interested in the male fashions of the time and would have liked more pages of the women's fashion. Quite large illustrations so difficult for me to colour as professionally as I would have liked. The paper could have been thicker as anything other than pencils bleed through, so pencils are not really best for the areas to colour.

Book
I colour often and like good quality products unfortunately the quality of the paper has gone down so would not purchase again despite drawings being good
