Good Quality & Value for Money & Excellent Customer Service
This is a reasonably-priced, commercial-grade, very sturdy filing cabinet is manufactured in the USA by HON, a US company based in Iow with a long reputation for quality., It is an excellent choice for home office or small/medium business use. The finish and mechanical details are flawless and the drawers are well supported by ball bearing extension arms. Any one fully-loaded drawer can be opened it's entire length without risk of tipping over.. Although purchased from, and shipped by, a third party vendor, Amazon provided a substantial (>25%) discount off the sales price listed. The vendor provided excellent customer service, shipped the filing cabinet on time, kept me advised of status almost daily, and checked after it was delivered to ensure satisfaction. The unit arrived with minor, cosmetic shipping damage that does not affect features or functionality and is barely noticeable (a dent/scratch ~ 0.0625 in [15 mm] deep and about 1.25 in/317 mm long). See the attached photos. I recommend this product without hesitation.

FALLS FORWARD
Good quality - but if I extend the top drawer open all the way the hole unit falls forward. I am afraid it's gonna fall on my feel and legs. I would make sure next purchase it has locking drawers and only one opens at a time.

close to commercial grade
This is exactly what I was looking for – you get what you pay for. It’s heavy duty, the drawers extend fully not just partially, has anti-tip, and there are adjustable followers to hold file folders tight (don’t need those hanging things). It’s not quite commercial grade but it is closer than most of the stuff sold for much cheaper price.

you'll never find that kind of sturdy, user friendly quality in today's offerings
If you've had a well-loved filing cabinet from the 1950's or so, you'll never find that kind of sturdy, user friendly quality in today's offerings. But as things go today, this is probably the closest you'll get to that good-ole-American engineering - which, frankly, this isn't. I love rounded handles that don't cut into your hand when you pull the drawer open, but these handles are the typical "newer" ones, made of squared off pieces of metal with edges that are well-smoothed, but still sharp-edged. And the cabinet metal is today's version of sturdy, which means yesterday's version of flimsy. Still, it meets the basic need of a stable filing cabinet. The shipper offered minimal tracking information, meaning nothing accessible about whatever freight service they chose. And Amazon still shows it is in transit, although it actually was delivered a bit earlier than estimated (about three weeks ago)!

No complaints
I got the 4 drawer black cabinet and have no complaints. Amazon arranged some local company to deliver it and they called me to arrange a time and a day and wheeled it up to my door, no problem. It came well packed with no dents or scratches. (Disclaimer: when I bought it, it was being shipped and sold by Amazon. I can't vouch for any 3rd parties. When I look right now, Amazon is still selling the 5-drawer but the 2 and 4 are being sold by 3rd parties.)It is heavy but not so much that I couldn't maneuver it into place on my own. It comes with a lock and 2 keys for it, which locks all the doors from a central lock. Individual doors are held shut with a latch, and a thumb button to release it so you can open the door.It has the regular rails for holding folders and an adjustable metal backing that will let you adjust the depth of the drawer if you want. Seems like a good, heavy, solid file cabinet.

Disappointed in product and delivery method
The file cabinet shipping box looked fine, therefore I accepted the product in it's factory shipping carton. What a surprise for me when I opened it up to find that the cabinet was seriously damaged. The top drawer of the cabinet will open and close, however the appearance (two large bends near the front - one of each side) makes the cabinet so ugly that it can't be used where others will see it. Appearance quite often determines how others see you and your business. Looking at the carton, no way did this damage occur in transit -- it had to be factory boxed in a damaged condition. The shipping was a disaster from day one. The cabinet was shipped within one day of the order for what should have been a 5 day delivery as was promised. The cabinet was shipped from TX to Atlanta where it sat in a warehouse for a week or so and was eventually shipped to a warehouse within two hours of my location where it once again sat for a week or so.Delivery was finally accomplished because I spent quite a while on the phone finding it and then pressing the final delivery to happen. I had to accept the cabinet on the side of a state highway because final delivery was done using a big rig to a residential address.ALL IN ALL, BY FAR MY WORST AMAZON EXPERIENCE....had this been my first Amazon order it would definitely have been my last..TRULY disappointed -- for sure will never order another file from Amazon. The quality is way less than an "identical" model that I ordered from Office Depot a couple of years ago.........

Price is high for file cabinet
I have purchased many filing cabinets paying $180 to $300. This one was $525.00, the metal seems thinner/cheaper and the brace to hold up the folders is made very cheaply. Instead of being on a rail, you move a piece of metal into slots. I expected more from HON brand. Also took 3 weeks or so to have delivered by a local trucking company.

Horrible experience
I ordered two of these file cabinets, both showed up with dents. One was salvageable and one was not. Amazon sent a replacement cabinet for the un-salvageable cabinet, and the replacement was also dented and not salvageable. Amazon would not replace the replacement because of the previous return on the original item. The only option I had was to return the unsalavgeable cabinet and re-order a new one. Problem being that Amazon no longer was selling the cabinet and to purchase the same cabinet, I would have to pay $50.00 more. I spent hours on the phone with Amazon trying to clear this up, not to mention I had to load and unload these cabinets each time there was a problem, causing an additional 2-3 hours of downtime, and Amazon's solution to this was for me to pay more for the same item. I would not but this cabinet again, and I would be very leery of purchasing anything through Amazon again.
