Very good, but very smelly (with weekly updates)
I bought this because I've developed a daily yoga practice over the past year, and had been using carpeting or towels to put my body on. My knees where getting dry and cracked from the practice of putting them on rough surfaces, and I wanted to get something more comfortable. I practice for about an hour/day. An experienced yoga instructor in NYC recommended this product. I appreciated their commitment to excellence not only in manufacturing, but also in ecological commitment (a tree is planted for every product sold... although I've heard that most saplings don't survive, but I'm not sure. I like the mat very much, I got the 72" in blue (I am 6' 2".. if I had to do it again, I'd buy the larger version.. when I point my toes, about 6" of me is off the mat - from top of the head to toes.) I also don't have much experience with other yoga mats, so I am unable to usefully compare anything other than a flimsy, cheap mat I have used in the past, whose ends don't stay flat on the floor. I don't like that, and this yoga mat is sturdy and is going to hold its own on the ground. It's also hefty: I would not want to carry this with me to the studio, and because I have an in-home practice, I don't. The biggest thing about it, and my biggest report is the rubber fumes coming off of it. Jade Yoga is very clear that these mats could be smelly. I want to attest to that, and to say that after 2 weeks, my eyes and nose are still a bit irritated (down from a lot irritated) when I'm too close to the mat. I expect this to diminish, and I plan to post updates. I have it hanging up in the bathroom, with the window cracked.. and it has been like that for 10 days.. and it can still fill a room with rubber smell. Are these VOC's? (Volatile Organic Compounds) that my eyes are reacting to, and that I'm breathing in? I find the smell agreeable, from a distance. Like a car wash, or new tire store.... but it's not pleasant when I need to put my face into the mat. At least not yet.Another issue after a few weeks of use: there seems to be some slight film or residue that gets rubbed onto my skin (knuckles and knees esp.) when using the mat. I assume that is part of the deal. I don't like it, but I imagine that will self correct in time/usage.UPDATE: after 3 weeks of continuous hanging in the bathroom with the window cracked, the smell is significantly reduced on the top side (the side I had open to the air). I can put my face in the mat, without reaction.I smelled the bottom side today to compare, and it is much smellier than the top side. This is good... so I'm flipping it over when hanging it up.UPDATE: after 4 weeks - so 2 weeks of having the bottom side exposed to open air - the smell is still enough to fill a small room. Impressive how long it lasts. I am really enjoying the mat, despite the smelliness of it. Top side, no impact on me (I can still smell it, but it's faint) whatsoever.UPDATE after 5 weeks - virtually no change in the smell. It doesn't fill the living room, but it does the bathroom. Not strong, but undeniable. The 'paste' or layering that seemed to be coming off the mat and onto my skin (little sticky/chalky and slightly unpleasant), isn't happening anymore.

Good Yoga Mat So Far
We bought the Jade Harmony midnight blue, 71" Yoga mat in early April (2019) for home use. We use it mainly on a carpeted floor to do planks, Pilates, stretches, and other (non-Yoga) types of floor exercises, but have also tried it on a wooden floor and have found it to also be stable on a wood floor. So far, we've been very satisfied with the stability, quality, and comfort of this mat. My wife is 5'6" and I'm 5'9" and we've both found the 71" mat to be just right in that our entire body fits on the mat without our feet or head hanging over the edges when we're doing things like planks or other exercises where our bodies are stretched out. However, if you're closer to 6 feet tall, you might want to consider a longer than 71" mat. We have found this mat to be good for the non-Yoga exercises mentioned above. Previous reviewers of the Jade Harmony mat have stated that it has a strong rubber odor. While there is a rubber odor, we haven't found it to be overwhelmingly strong that it has caused us headaches or feeling nauseated or to not feel well.. Sure, when you're up close to the mat, you do smell the rubber. But, when we walk into the room where we keep the mat, the entire room isn't filled with a rubber odor (only when you get close to the mat). Also, our midnight blue mat is two-toned, with dark blue on one side and a light blue on the other side, making it essentially a reversible mat. We haven't found any running of colors from the mat to our carpet or onto our clothes, as was reported by some reviewers. Because we haven't had the mat that long, we can't speak to the durability of our particular mat. However, my wife can attest to the durability of the Jade Harmony mats, in general, because she has used Jade Harmony mats for both Yoga and Pilates at the athletic club where we work out. According to instructors of both Yoga and Pilates classes at our gym, their mats get heavy usage ( at least 22 classes per week, year round) and, after 7 years of this heavy usage, the mats are still in good shape. We recommend this mat for anyone looking for a good quality mat to do both Yoga and non-Yoga types of floor exercises.

You need this yoga mat
I've recently gotten into yoga and I started with a Giaim mat. I loved it at first but I was a newbie and didn't know how important a yoga mat was then. The Giaim mat worked well but it wasn't good for daily use or for a long term mat. I tried cheaping out and getting other less expensive mats only to have the same frustration of slipping when I got sweaty or not gripping for dry yoga. Finally I bought this Jade Harmony mat. I've heard good reviews from it in person plus reading all the reviews on Amazon, I decided to try it. I am so happy I did. This mat works for dry and sweaty yoga. You definitely get better grip the longer you practice but I'm not in downward dog constantly sliding anymore. It's cushioned enough for me, but I do also have a living room rug between the floor and my mat. If you're going to do yoga on a daily basis and are going to do all types of yoga, this is the mat you need to buy. I've used it everyday for about two months now and it's still just as grippy as when I first bought it. There is a slight rubber smell, but it does fade and honestly it didn't really phase me. That smell went away after about two weeks of daily use.

Stained product!
Jade Harmony mat is one of the premium ones offered in the market and after reading so many reviews I decided that the investment was worth it for what I was looking for. Eco, good support, nice colour and washable. Unfortunately, the one sent to me has some stains that, even after a few washes, haven't gone yet. It looks like the mat was sitting on a shelf for a very long time and got some built up dust (see pictures). While I like the mat, its Lavender and Purple colour and how perfectly firm it is for my practise, I am so disappointed to have received a stained product, I feel I have wasted £77.80! I haven't used it yet as I am quite embarrassed to take it to my class.I think Yoga Studio could have done a lot better by checking the product with such a value before sending it and I would like to hear from them or Amazon regarding this matter.

Received 68" mat, not 71"
The mat is great. Wonderful. Works as other customers have mentioned. However, I received this mat but in 68". It worked fine, so we decided to keep it. I reached out to the supplier via amazon (Yogamatters) and they only offered to return/refund. I just wanted a credit of the price. They stated they couldn't do that because they didn't create the listing, and I'd have to reach out to Amazon. Very confusing. What's not confusing is that this is, quite plainly, terrible customer service.

Love it
Super grippy right from the start, perfect length. Love it!Maybe in the future I would order a slightly darker colour so that dirt and things don't show up so much as it does sometimes on the lavender coloured one. But very happy.

Met all my expectations
The mat arrived timely and the quality was what I was hoping. I have knees that hurt when using most mats, but this one was thick enough that I didn't need a second mat. In addition, my hands tend to slip on other mats as I start sweating and that was not the case with this one.
