Great for the price
The department didn't issue me a light. At a recent training I found out how important it is. I saw some others with similar models of helmet lights so I got this one with a Streamlight band. It doesn't weigh very much, it's bright as can be (I don't know if somebody made a mistake but the one I received is clearly marked 200 lumen.) I haven't taken it inside a smokey environment yet to see how well it performs there.Easy to operate with heavy gloves. It may not look by the way it's sitting on the helmet but it shines directly in front. I like this method of attaching the light. Clamps seemed like they would get snagged.Like everything, time will tell. In rough environments it's going to get damaged, possibly melted, we'll see.

Four Stars
Just died, the on/off switch at the bottom doesnt make contact anymore. Not reliable at all for the money.

Almost Perfect for Me
We have been using the Streamlight Propolymer Luxeon flashlights for several years. It is excellent (if not perfect) in our work environment. We usually work in dark, dirty, and wet areas of restaurant kitchens. Use of electric lights in these areas can be dangerous. The Streamlight flashlight provides what law enforcement people could consider "tactical" brightness. We use these lights on a daily basis while testing live electrical circuits. (Don't do this at home, boys and girls.) The LED bulb has never burned out. With Duracell AA alkaline batteries full brightness lasts for at least two weeks. We recently started using Duracell nickel hybride rechargable batteries. The drop in initial brightness is almost imperceptible. I usualy charge them once a week. I have only one small complaint about the reviewed flashlight. The black propolymer looks great when one is wearing formal ware. It is more difficult to find if it falls into a dark corner. If you work in conditions similar to mine, order it in yellow.

Old school but really good
Takes AA batteries which are easy to get.The end cap on/off switch works great with the thumb.Robust, (I've dropped it).Not as small or bright as newer designs but overall my favorite flashlight.
