Best flint and steel set I've ever owned.
I love this flint and steel set! I get excellent sparks with it and all the other things (ferro rod, tinder wick etc.) are just as great. Thank you BSGB! You have a lifelong customer with me.🙂

Striker does not work
To be fair, I like the rest of the product. However I cannot get the steel striker made from an old file to produce sparks from the flint. I thought it was a fluke and ordered a replacement. Same deal, no sparks. I tried the same pieces of flint that came with the kit using my old C-shape striker and get sparks galore. It is my belief that by heating up the file to bend the handle the temper was lost in the steel. Striking it with the flint causes the edge to round off as you can see in the 2nd picture.

Little tlc to get to MY liking otherwise AWESOME kit yall!!
Absolutely beautiful kit striker needed some fine tuning to finally throw sparks well and not chew the rock up. Nothing a grinder, file and/or some concrete and elbow grease didn't take care of after about 20 minutes. Otherwise everything else in kit is phenomenally well built and stunning. 1.5 thumbs up 4.5 stars on product 6-5 for customer service. You guys were a pleasure to speak with.
