Green Lantern: Earth One Volume 2

Not any Green Lantern you know
When Green Lantern was revived in 1959 and given a science fiction spin, it was a fresh, new, and exciting development in comics storytelling. I know. I read those stories when they were new. Here Hardman and Bechko take that innovation to the next level, giving us a 21st century update on the concept that is steeped in hard science fiction. I'm generally not appreciative of alternative versions of characters, but this one wins me over with pure excellence in story and art. Hardman and Bechko are in the top tier of comics creators today (just as Broome and Kane were in 1959) and I'll be looking forward to the next installment of this series.

Absolutely Amazing!
Hardman and Beckho, once again, nailed this series!Earth One Green Lantern's story manages to not just tell a GL plot, but rather, it also presents a first contact scenario for humanity itself. The theme strikes, immediately, with a sense of urgency and intrigue (though volume 1 did telegraph the culprit).Best way I describe this series is if Green Lantern had a more "Star Wars" feel (makes sense since creative team worked on SW in the past).probably the most shining review i can give is this. I'm not a fan of Green Lantern Hal Jordan. But I'm a huge fan of Earth One Hal Jordan!

Intergalactic war
I really enjoyed this book. I love the more Scifi feel to the Earth One feel to the Green Lantern. Here the ring are more weapons that, then the person using them choosen. There is a more science reason for the power difference of the rings as well. I hope the build on this in the next volume. The artwork matches the story perfectly. There is a lot of thing setup or unfinished in this volume so I am definitely looking out for that.I on one of the quotes of this books is "true to the character's core", this is true bit it is the world that is different world. I think it is even mentioned by Jordan himself he is from a totalitarian society. All in all a very enjoyable version of Grean Lantern. No cover gallery but a sketch book to finish the book off.

Superheros
My son loves these books. He gets lost in them so easily and at this time it’s a good thing.
