Spot on!
I bought this for my young teenage son to practice mess around with, and its a great product. Not sure how well it would hold up in a full-on fight, but I hope that's not anyone's intention! Its a good length and a good weight, great for pretending your a Jedi, or something from a martial arts film!

Cannot take a side kick to chuck it out, or heavy practice, fine for non contact practice practice..
The media could not be loaded. Not really an oak staff good for practice, without punch bag or akido but well you can rather see? However the company has now given me a full refund.:-)

Seems like a rough £5 broom handle
I agree with the lady who did the 1st review labeled "splinters" very rough finish? Dosnt seem like a real bo staff to me? Not sure if it is really red oak? It seems the same as a standard broom handle badly stained red ish? In fact the wood on my broom handles have a smoother surface and are same weight and actually easier and more comfortable to do martial arts spin techniques? Not impressed at all , broom handles are less than five pounds at a hardware or DIY store, this so called purpose made red oak bo staff is approx £15 plus £10 delivery so £25 ish ? Not worth that amount of money at that price in my opinion,I would of sent it back for a full refund but cost of sending it back isn't worth even posting back,

Rubbish
A propper Jo or bo needs to be made from Japanese oak. Notice that they are avoiding telling you the actual wood, just that it's red oak colour.White oak is preferable as it's denser but scarce and expensive. It needs to be heavy and strong, full impact against another bo or boken should be no problem. There is no such thing as a practice bo, it's either a bo or it's not. Twirling a light brush stale around fool's no one.Only train with a real bo it's the only way to build correct techniques. A real bo needs to be able to withstand a cut from a Katana.Only buy a bo or boken from a established Japanese manufacturer, yes they are expensive but they will last for years. Slowly you will fill it with spirit and it becomes more than a piece of wood.I am a 63 year old lifetime Karate and Kenjitsu practitioner. As a closing note in my younger years we used to break brush stales across our arms, torso and shins at public demonstrations. Yes it really hurts but only results in a bruise if you are properly trained. Don't try it unless you are shodan or above. This clearly demonstrates how heavy and strong a bo needs to be in order to be effective.Find yourself a proper club before training, if they are not using Japanese bo, Jo or boken move on.
