This book describes Colonel Sanders forgotten gravy recipe
not a full blown recipe but hints at the ingredients which are just simple.flour (the one used to bread the chicken)shortening (the one used to fry the chicken)heated milk (whole milk)lots of cracklings (the sludges that settles at the bottom of the fryer)i tried recreating it and my gravy… the colonel’s gravy have that velvety smooth texture, unlike the slop of a gravy “wallpaper paste” that we have in KFC today.Probably the milk and cracklings are responsible for this texture.

The rise of Dave is absolutely crazy and everyone should definitely read it,though it gets a little boring towards the end but you should definitely read this book to know the drive and fire that Dave had to succeed.

Thanks, Dave
As the president of a business, I am always interested in autobigoraphies, or business advice from more experienced and successful leaders. This book contains some of the best advice I have come across. It is very down to earth, has a simple style - but that's Dave's way! As straightforward as the writing, the homespun wisdom and advice is not trendy, it is the type that will hold true in 50 years or 50 years in the past. However, it is NOT common knowledge and I learned many valuable lessons.Read it if you are a CEO or a kitchen manager in a fast food restaraunt - either way you will have more insight into life in general.

Great man
I've begun something of an obsession with fast food icons. Beginning with Grinding it Out by Ray Kroc, and continuing with The Burger King by James McLamore, and I can say that Dave Thomas is the best I've read so far. Reading this book is like listening to an uncle.
