A must have for amateur film makers!
I’m really happy with the RODE boom pole! High quality and lightweight. It’s aluminum so you have to be careful not to over tighten. I greased the threads and that helps not to cross thread. Extends 10’ which is a far as I need. The ends are removable to feed the wire through and looks very professional and no wire in the way. No sound from the wires at all when moving around. Very sturdy when fully extended and holds the RODE VideoMic perfectly. Can’t go wrong with RODE!

Bulky and unpractical
This boom was for me more bulky and unpractical. It’s telescopic features was not smooth and easy to use. I have just come home from a one week documentary shoot in the US and it ended up I was leaving this boom at my hotel room and used a monopod as microphone boom instead. I ran the microphone cable inside the boom and the bushings (plastic) got stuck and broke in the boom. I work professionally with sound and I am not happy with this product.

Works pretty well
I was a bit reluctant to get these clips based on the number of negative reviews of them snapping pretty easily but they work pretty well for me. No broken ones yet on my mic stand. I even use them on the smaller radius boom arm with a little innovative cable wiring between the clip and the arm. I'm pleasantly surprised.
