Just go for this ... I am feeding my baby with this nipple since his birth... Its bery good... It replicates the breast feeding... By using this nipple, baby doesn't reject breast. I bought 3 medela nipples, response is very good.Go for it.

Mi bebé toma pecho pero hay veces que tengo que darle mamila así que este producto es buena opción pues solo sale si el bebé succiona. La primera vez que lo usamos si salía más flujo que en el pecho y el bebé medio se ahogaba, pero después fuimos mejorando la técnica (tanto el bebé como nosotros al dársela), por ejemplo, no inclinamos tanto la mamila y así se regula aún más el flujo. Vale mucho la pena si buscas que tu bebé no deje de succionar aunque tome biberón.

This nipple is a blessing. My baby is on BF as well as Formula and this makes the switching easy. I use these bottles to feed Formula. I have 2 sets of Calma Nipples (one of the 2 came with the breast pump) and am using 4 5oz Medela bottles for my 2.5 month old baby. Cleaning is easy. Wash milk residue with plain water then wash with warm soapy water. Rinse and sterilise. You'll need a brush only for the bottle. Putting together the nipple can be a task in the beginning but once you get the hang of it, it's great.You need to pull out the nipple from the baby's mouth, a couple of times at the beginning of the feed coz they suck harder when they're super hungry and that will leave them with more milk than they can take and could lead to choking. After a few suckles, he will adjust his speed.

I have a premature son and untold latching issues. My daughter was also premature with all kinds of medical problems and even though I dont know how I did it, I pumped for 9 looooong months. My son was the complete opposite but despite my best efforts I could not tolerate pumping (even with the awesome Medela Symphony) a few weeks after he came home at a month old. I just could not stand it a second longer not to mention I was only getting around 10ml every three hours. Pure torture. So for a while, he was 100% bottle fed.There have been a LOT of latch issues with him and with the help of the medication Domperidone and sheer determination, I have been able to get my supply to come back. I still have to use the Medela Contact Breast Shields because occasionally I have to give him a bottle of formula to suppliment his voracious appetite. When he came home from the hospital, still a month before his due date, he was taking 3 oz breastmilk every three hours. He is 6 mo old (corrected) and in addition to breastmilk/formula eats around 5 oz of purees twice a day and still quite lean! In addition to latching issues, being bottle trained during 4 weeks in the NICU and his big appetite, he got use to the rapid fill-my-tummy-up-QUICK. When breastfeeding, he would stop nursing after the initial breastmilk flow and wouldnt empty the breast. This was problematic because he was not benefitting from the higher calorie hind milk. A Catch 22 because if your breasts arent emptied, they stop producing as much milk.When I saw the Calma, I was *extremely* interested. In a few short weeks I'm going to have to put him in daycare twice a week and was DREADING having the nipple confusion come back in full force. I have been in excruciating pain on several occasions these last few months and do not want to go there again. Through my efforts and extremely limiting bottle use, we are at a pretty good place and he will now mostly empty the breast. I dont want to lose that.Because of the price for just one Calma is quite high, I was leery but went ahead and bought one to give it a try because I cannot bare to go back to the horrible pain of a shallow latch that bottle use produces. I was very uneasy spending that much money because I anticipated he would reject it. From the box description, I was a little worried it would require too much sucking to get the necessary vacuum to dispense milk. I am very happy to report that he had no hesitation or problems using the Medela Calma nipple! I also anticipated him chewing on the end which is longer than usual. (He has begun to do that with regular bottle nipples.) He doesnt. In fact, I was trying to pull it out of his mouth a little in an attempt to see how this design worked. He cried the same way he does if I try to take him off my nipple and went right back to sucking and eating.The best news is that when I put him back to the breast, he latched on *immediately* to my nipple. In the past, after using a traditional nipple, it would take him approximately 20 seconds to get a good latch.The first time I used it, I tried to tighten it as I do regular nipples and it slipped off the neck of the bottle from over tightening. Gentle tightening works better from my experience so I recommend testing out a few times. The whole assembly and design is a lot different from conventional nipple units. The nipple unit has several pieces and it didnt look like the silicon nipple was going to stay in place but I had no problems with leaking. The end of the nipple is open and that completely baffled me and seemed un-breast like. I've got no idea how it works, but I'm overjoyed that it does. It is well worth the investment, especially any one who has had nipple confusion. It is a genius design! Even better....it works! I'm ordering two more Nipple only assemblies because I already have Medela bottles.
