Simply Put - ThIs is the Luxe model of Slendertone. HUGE upgrade from X-70. Worth the Extra.
The new Connect instantly made the X-70 a subpar product. Worth every dollar if it's in your budget.I was EXTREMELY surprised by this new Slendertone. I have the Slendertone X70 (their previous top of the line) and honestly, I've never really liked it much and for the price, I always wished I had spent less and just gotten the X60 or even lower because it didn't justify its high cost. I just couldn't really say I understood what I was paying such a premium price for. I mean, the only real difference between the X60 and X70 is three active training modes, which I was pretty unimpressed by. It also goes up to 150 now, but I really believe that they just made the increments smaller, which means the old 120 is the new 150. The X70 did what it was supposed to do (toning your abs) but the whole interface, the way you charge it, the belt size, the unevenness of the pulses... pretty much everything just felt like it was behind, technology-wise. There was a lot of room for improvement.Well, I'm happy to say that this new Slendertone corrected ALL of the mistakes. It is a huge upgrade in pretty much every way and I'm happy to say that they've completely justified the premium price for me.Pros:1. The belt is considerably thinner and made in a much better way. This is hard to describe, but the old belt had a stitch that wrapped around the outer edge of the belt. The whole thing was just bulky, especially with the control unit. It felt like something I'd see ten years ago. The new belt fixes all of that. It's slim, feels good, and looks cutting edge or as cutting edge as you'd expect a belt to look. It's a great belt overall.2. The control unit is awesome and charges via micro-USB (finally!). The unit is thin, and locks into the controller in an easy way so you aren't fumbling trying to figure out which way to connect it like the X70. You can turn it up and down on the face of it, but it also uses bluetooth and the app is absolutely excellent. Unlike the X70, I really think I could wear this under my clothes if I wanted to.3. The iPhone app is excellent. Honestly, I expected problems here. I figured the app would be half-baked and I would have problems connecting. I was wrong. It is rock solid. The interface makes complete sense. I was able to configure and sync the phone to the control unit without issue. It's just awesome and such a huge upgrade from the old clunky control unit. They really thought this out. I love how it can remind me and I love that I can set up goals and get "Fit points". It's a very impressive app.4. The belt actually evenly tones your abs. Okay, you'd think I wouldn't have to mention this, but a huge flaw of the X70... and maybe the others is that you feel like one side is not "toning" you at the same intensity as the other. This wasn't a matter of the pads being worn out as it was noticeable on day one of using the X70. So I would have to turn up my left side pad by 10 just to get them even. Of course, maybe my X70 was just broken from the outset. All this to say that they've fixed this now and the new belt tones evenly.5. This belt goes up even higher or as high as the X70. So, I was worried that I couldn't get a read on how high or intense the new belt would go. All I could find was that it was "variable". Well, I'm happy to tell you that I went up to 87 on the Connect and i could barely take it. I was regularly going up to 120 on the X70 without it being too intense. So even though the X70 goes up to "150", its basically a non-issue and the device sticks to a 1 out of 100 intensity setting as any device should do. Treat it like a percent of the highest intensity.Cons:1. The belt is noticeably shorter than the X70. I was able to fit it around my waist, but I was worried I wasn't going to be able to. This was not an issue with the X70. I'm a size 36 waist and pretty fit, so if you are any bigger than that, you might need some kind of extender.Besides that, I really struggle to find any faults with this new belt. Based on all of this, its up to you to decide whether its worth the premium price. For me, it absolutely was. It's a huge upgrade and someone at Slendertone really outdid themselves. This is the belt to beat.

Game changer
In less than a week, this product has already changed my life. I'm not your average consumer, though. I broke my neck and suffered a spinal cord injury 4 years ago, which left me paralyzed from the chest down. While I've had a remarkable recovery since then and can stand & walk with a walker, I still experience horrible and debilitating extensor muscle spasms and muscle weakness in certain areas, a major one being my core.Because of the weaknesss in my abs, I've developed what we in the SCI community lovingly(?) refer to as "para pouch" or "quad belly". I can't really hold my belly in constantly, so it's caused problems with clothes being ill fitting, and since I usually still use a wheelchair, having a big belly is a bad look when you're always seated. Also, my weak abs combined with constantly spastic back muscles has given me terrible back pain. After using the slendertone for two days a few times a day, but stomach looked NOTICEABLY smaller and my clothes fit looser. Obviously these are not typical results, because most people don't have spinal cord injuries! Another major improvement has been a lot less back pain. Also, If I use it when I'm standing or walking, my posture is much better and my walking is much smoother and faster. If I use it while in my wheelchair, I'm much more effective and in less pain because I'm able to use my ab power rather than power from just my already sore back and shoulders. The Bluetooth function works great on my iPhone. I do wish it allowed you to control each of the three electrodes (left, right, and middle) separately. Also, I'd like to see more diverse programs with less pause in between contractions.

Not impressed
I was in love with this product when I saw it. It made sense and the reviews were good. I tried it for 6 months completing a few of its programs, even the intense ones. Honestly, I didn't see much of a difference. Doing 20 set ups probably have more effect than a 30-minute Slendertone session.

Day 5 - broke, App error, controller error - Nightmare from Hell
I have had this for 5-days and it has given me nothing but deep trouble and frustration. And after 5 days of use - it won't work anymore.- The day I got it, I was trying to set up the initial program - which requires their smartphone App. I downloaded the Android app on my Samsung Galaxy S8+. I opened the app but could not get past the very first screen! No matter what I do, I cannot click past their EULA ('I Agree'). After picking my brain for hours, I figured that the "genius" who had designed this app for Android messed up with resolution etc. Clearly, Android app was an afterthought and a poorly executed one at that. So, I toggled a bunch of phone settings, reducing every possible display setting, so as to make my phone resemble a Neandertal iPhone gen 1. Finally, I could click on the EULA and proceed.- I was initially able to connect my Slendertone controller via app - and finished the first workout. Thereafter, every session when I tried to initiate a new session by opening the app - it would take a few - "close app, restart controller, restart app - juggernaut to get it working. I persisted for 4 days.- On 5th day, before my 5th session, hell broke loose. As soon as I opened the app, connected to the controller and started to initiate the program - my app screamed - "An unrecoverable error has occurred. Restart the controller and try again". Nada! No matter how many times you do this - nothing. (I've uploaded pics of the error). I even unpaired it, paired it back, changed the program - did every possible thing I could think of - but no - it's stuck in the error state, unusable.- Ok, I decided Slendertone is not ready for the era of smartphones. Perhaps just the controller manual setting might work? No luck there either. When I ignore the app, turn on the controller and try to adjust program/intensity there - it just beeps (photo added to my review) and remains stuckEssentially, after a use of mere 4 days, the equipment is a complete piece of rotten crap that is sitting here mocking me. I wrote to them earlier, and their customer support seems non-existent.
