I am not a veterinarian but am involved in animal rescue and I do have a scientific background which helps with the verbiage. This book has already proven useful as a peer-reviewed resource for determining animal maladies so I may communicate more accurately with the rescue's vets. Its layout makes it easy to narrow down the malady based upon symptoms and each of the consultations has potential causes, ways to diagnose and treat, follow up, when to refer to a specialist, and a "low cost" option.
