Actually Clear!
Before I bought this I had the worst time trying to figure out how clear they actually were with the matte tecture on the back, and couldn't find a solid answer anywhere, but I bought them regardless. So, if like me, you were wondering how clear these sleeves actually are, let me say that they are VERY clear. There is a slight matte texture on the back, but it does not distort or block the card backing at all and you are able to see through it very clearly. I'm very happy with my purchase now that I know how clear this sleeves actually are, and of course that they live up to Dragon Shield's usual high stabdards for card sleeves.

Great Clear Sleeves: Matte only on backs, fronts are clear!
These sleeves are NOT Matte on the front, only Matte on the back. BOTH sides are clear but the front is SMOOTH & CLEAR (not cloudy or matte). The Matte back side is still clear-ish but b/c of Matte will look a bit "fuzzy/cloudy." The Fronts will look clear (as in you can see cards just fine). You will get 102-103 Sleeves total; very strong and durable, looks great as you can still see the classic cards backs (MTG, etc). Will buy again.

Great for playing games with cards
These are transparent card sleeves on both sides.Cards with these sleeves won't stick like others because of the matte finish. Only one side is matte, and the other is clear so it won't affect the visibility on the cards. Even on the matte side, the visibility is great, so the sleeves will not affect the aesthetics of the cards at all. These card sleeves are tight fit so you will not be able to double sleeve them if that is what you want to do. These are perfect for games that involve handling of cards, but not as much as in trading card games. I use them on Gloomhaven and they fit neatly. The only downside is that it is a little more pricy compare to regular sleeves, but you probably won't want to use other sleeves anymore after you use these.

I like seeing the backs of cards
I like seeing the backs of cards, and I really like the matte feel. I wish I had discovered this earlier before I bought all the clear smooth dragonshield sleeves. Somebody mentioned they're difficult to double sleeve with, and that's true. With KMC perfect fit, they kept slipping out about half a cm from the bottom. I was able to get around this by placing a nonsleeved card on top of the inner-sleeved card and then pushing it into the matte shield. Then i'd remove the nonsleeved card by carefully sliding it out. This works but it is more time consuming, so you might want to think about that if you're looking to double sleeve.I don't really double sleeve so these were perfect for my purposes

The matte finish allow the original card backs to show while obscuring minor wear and tear
I used these to sleeve a Magic: the Gathering retro cube (1993-1994 cards only) and I wanted the original card backs to be visible through the sleeves. These protectors do that perfectly. The matte finish ensures the backs are still visible, but obscures minor imperfections. Excellent.
