Wrapsol Ultra protective skin for 4th Generation (September 2010) iPod Touch

Effective, but hard to apply & not designed well
I just bought my first iPod Touch, a significant spending of cash for this struggling student, and wanted to make sure it was protected against scratches, wear & tear, & drops. I researched different skins and covers available (not too many are out yet for the 4th generation model), and decided I would go with a clear skin & leather case until OtterBox releases a case compatible with the newest iPods.I researched "Invisible Shields", and my decision came down to Zagg and Wrapsol. I decided to go with Wrapsol because it has a dry install, it's thicker & offers more protection against scratches & drops, and it was cheaper. The shield comes with a microfiber cloth to clean your iPod before application, as well as a wet towelette for your hands, and a rubber squeegee. I was impressed by the microfiber towel-- it's not disposable like I expected -- I will definitely be keeping it & reusing it! The rubber squeegee also did its job, but I was not impressed by the towelette, which was supposed to keep fingerprints off the skin. Even with washing my hands immediately before beginning application & using the towelette throughout, the application process is designed such that it is next to impossible to keep fingerprints off. This is because you can't slide it around at all -- it sticks where you place it, so you have to keep repositioning it. And, the holes for the camera and the home button aren't cut carefully-- so it's impossible to position properly. That being said, while the fit and application are definitely frustrating, the skin itself does seem to be effective at protecting from scratches, and doesn't seem to add an significant drag when using the touch screen.

Wrapsol Ultra for the Ipod Touch 4
I bought the Wrapsol Ultra and applied it a couple of days ago for my iPod Touch 4th generation and the cuts are not fitted. They are off and there was no way to try and make it fitted unless you try and make the holes bigger. For the front, you either had to pic the hole fitting around the camera or the home button. One or the other, but not both. One will be off. For the back chrome bevel, either the top for the camera and off button and volume, or the charging and speaker holes. Do not buy unless you want to take your chances. I am throwing it away. It was not worth the money.

It's a Wrap[sol] - Great Price
I have tried various products to protect pocket electronics, including Zagg's InvisibleShield. This is an initial review of Wrapsol, as I only installed yesterday (09/26/10). My inital thoughts: Made in USA (yes it matters to me), dry install, thick membrane, clear, and smooth. Amazon price is half on buying from Wrapsol direct - can't beat that. Also cheaper on Amazon that Zagg is.I am a fan of the InvisibleSheild products, they work well, and add some friction to the very smooth and slippery iPod Touch. However, they tend to peel and the edges (not a huge problem) and have an orange peel texture (like less), and the finger can drag a bit during use (very minor issue). So the product works well with a few niggling issues. Zagg uses a "wet install", you apply a spray to position the film, and let it dry for 24 hours. I have never had an issue, but who wants to leave their toy alone for a whole day!Wrapsol's UltraTouch for the iPod Touch 4g, is a nice product that addresses several of Zagg's issues.First is dry install, seemed to be as much a pain in the buttinsky as the "wet install", but you can use the product immediately. They give a moist towelette to keep finger prints from showing on the sticky side, but I found the stick has no sliding around as do the "wet install" methods, so it sticks where you put it. I had to lift off the film several times to get it just so, and the towelette started to become difficult to keep finger moist.Secondly, after install is done, the film seems to stick better. The corners adhered easier, and to a greater satisfaction. There are still potential bubble issues, but they seemed to resolve themselves, and I was able to eliminate the big ones. The cut is fantastic, and I like the detailing at the corners better than any other film I have tried.Thirdly, product looks gorgeous on my new iPod Touch 4G. No orange peel, no milkiness, very clear. Film is smooth, maybe not as smooth as glass, but very close. Seems to cut down on finger prints, the original glass on the iPod Touch 4G does not have the iPhone 4G Oleo-phobic coating (oil resistant, so finger prints show even more. This film does help. This film is less tactcal than the Zagg product for holding in one hand, but much better than the super smooth iPod itself. The film is thicker than other products,so far I like that.Just barely a day into use, I am feeling real good about my choice to try the Wrapsol product.

So - So Quality
This is not any better than one you would buy at any brick and mortar store. Nothing special here. You could even make one yourself!
