Gen 2 x Extension Cable for Super Nintendo SNES Controller
W**.
Cheap, glitchy, waste of money.
Terrible quality. Other reviewers are right, they are very hard to get apart once connected, I applied maybe 2 pounds of pressure and the whole wire harness ripped out of the back. On top of that, the extensions glitch out the controllers and male games almost impossible to play. I'm just like you, I bought these with the hopes of playing old classics in the comfort of my rocker, but there's a reason we sat on the floor as kids.

Poor quality/alignment on plugs and only has 5 of the 7 pins
One of the cables has misaligned plugs so inserting into the console (or even itself - just to test) requires some force and adjusting. Cables only have the 5 pins used by the standard controller so if you are looking for an extension with all 7 pins this is not it. (Note you only need 5 for a stock controller to work but as an extension I expect it connect all pins transparently to the console and in my case I needed actually needed at least 6 of the 7 pins - a cable should not be deciding for me which controllers/devices I can and cannot use).

Not perfect but works great!
(See pic: top is Gen, bottom is official SNES controller) My only gripe with these extensions is the connector pins that attach to the console itself are so far out of alignment that they can't just plug in. On one of the extensions I had to wiggle it in until it finally clicked while the other one was too far out of alignment to wiggle in. I tried to adjust it with some needle nose pliers but broke a pin in the process. Once I got them both into the console the actual snes controller plugs in perfectly into the female end of the extension. Played some Mario World and it was working great with both extensions, even with a broken pin (probably wont last.) I'd say this is a good buy for $6 but be prepared for the hassle of plugging it into the console.

Works with the Hyperkin RetroN 3 and Nintendo Super Famicom Controllers.
The description says it doesn't work on the Hyperkin RetroN 3 but it works on the system, at least for me. I don't see how it can not work on all systems, as it's just an extension cord. I use it with Japanese market Nintendo Super Famicom controllers, as I find them more attractive than the US market controllers and they are easier to find than the PAL region Super Nintendo controllers. The difference between the Super Nintendo controllers and the Super Famicom controllers, is that the cord on the Super Famicom controllers is only like a foot or two long because the cord isn't perfectly straight, which is way too short for me. Using these cables allows me to have a similar length of cord compared to the Super Nintendo controllers.

It works but, It fits the controllers WAY too ...
It works but, It fits the controllers WAY too snugly, it's hard to connect and disconnect them; and I'm worried it may damage my controllers if I do too many connect/disconnect cycles* with these.(*: All connectors are designed with a maximum number of connect / disconnect cycles in mind; I believe these were designed with exponentially fewer cycles in mind than what you would expect from a typical consumer extension cable.)

Does what it's meant to do. Game on.
As an avid retro gaming fan it's been hard to part with my old consoles. I've kept them all, but playing my old SNES was a chore because of the short controller cables. These extensions are wonderfully priced and get the job done in style. They match the color of the 1st party controller cords and seem to work perfectly. They're snug, so don't worry about your controller getting disconnected during play. I tested both of the cables with Street Fighter II Turbo (as it uses every button on the pad) and it worked just like it should. If only a nice NES extension cable 2-pack were available. Buy with confidence.

If you're looking for extension cords, these are your final stop!
These are amazing extension cords! It's easy to plug and unplug controllers from these cords, and it's easy to plug and unplug from the SNES. It has a snug fit in the SNES port, and thus to remove it requires some force. I could easily count that as a good thing. These extension cords are reminiscent of SNES extension cords I used as a boy, and as somebody who's a bit of a deluxe-buff, that's always a compliment. Kudos to Global Game Gear for yet again setting the bar to astronamical heights.

Love playing your classic Super Nintendo
Love playing your classic Super Nintendo, but hate having to sit 4 feet away from your television? This is the perfect solution. These cables plug into the SNES on one end and your controller plugs into the other end. These doubled the cord length for our classic controllers so we no longer have to rearrange the living room or sit on the floor when we want to do some old school gaming.
