Prismacolor dupe at budget price
Arrived quickly and the quality was great for the price. It's well packaged in bubble wrap and cardboard box for shipping. The pencils themselves are neatly stacked inside a tin container. Personally, I love the softcore and blend ability of Prismacolor, but didn't want to spend that amount of cash at this time. Upon looking for alternative softcore coloring pencils, I came across KALOUR. The amount of pencils (180pcs) and the price point ($37+tax) were very good. Upon using them to color in the provided color key, I did notice the core was soft, but not as much as a Prismacolor. So the smearing was almost non-existent but the color payoff was spectacular for the price-point. I did notice some colors were a bit streaky. Most noticeably the metallic, which is to be expected. They do come pre-sharpened to a flat tip. In order to reduce streakiness, make sure to file it or round out the tip on a separate piece of paper. While in use, I did vary the pressure and I can attest that the tips do not break easily under high pressure, but still apply the true color when less pressure is used. Overall, I decided to give this set 5 stars due to the quality at this particular price-point. I feel that this would be an amazing set for beginner artists on a budget or simple everyday coloring as the variety is very desirable. Every color is distinct so there's no worry of repeat colors that is typical for this price-point in artist supplies.

Solid Quality and Variety at a Very Reasonable Price
I'm not an artist, but I wanted to try coloring with colored pencils. I did some research before buying these so I could tell (hopefully) if I got a good product. I'm comfortable giving these 5/5 stars considering the price. They have excellent color variety, they don't crumble too easily, and they arrived in good condition. The wood smells nice, and and I don't see obvious knots or rings, so there seems to be a reasonable attention to overall product quality, even though I can see a faint seam on some of the pencils. I think the resulting colors are a little too waxy for them to be truly professional quality, but even laying down color as heavily as seemed reasonable, the cores didn't crack or leave too much powder, and I could continue to blend the colors. They do not feel scratchy or chalky. For an inexpensive brand, I think they have an impressively good formula that will be more than sufficient for all but the most demanding artists who will need to invest in pencils that cost about $2 per pencil and up. Even for those artists, this is a very reasonable way to get a selection of colors for shades they rarely need. The colors seem true to the core and cover paper very consistently. Given my lack of skill, I was still able to achieve a nice clean result without too much streaking. Overall, I think these leave very little reason to purchase more commodity brands. If these aren't to your liking, you'll need to aim for a brand like Prismacolor (Premiere or better), Faber-Castell, or Caran d’Ache, and prepare for a very steep increase in price per pencil.

Excellent Colored Pencil Set!
Wanted to dive into colored pencil art (I’m usually all graphite/charcoal) but didn’t want to spend the money for Prismacolor. Read the reviews for this Kalour 180 Colored Pencil Set, and caught a sale price so I figured I’d give it a go. So glad I did! It arrived very well packaged with all 180 pencils neatly stacked in a nice tin container with a snug lid. Definitely a beautiful, quality gift for anyone into colored pencil art! It comes with 168 regular and 12 metallic pencils. A color chart that, once you fill in the corresponding blocks, allows for easy reference of the pencils’ color on paper. I did half with hard pressure and half with light. Not one pencil broke under the harder pressure. (I’ll finish the chart at some point 😊) It also has a color list on the underside of the lid. The colors are so vibrant and so smooth when coloring; no scratching. Great material and I would definitely recommend this set for anyone not trying to break the bank for great colored pencils ✏️

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS SET OF OIL-BASED COLORED PENCILS!!!
I purchased this set after I read that the oil-based colored pencils blended much better and they really do! The problem that I had with both the regular and watercolor colored pencils was running out of popular colors for grass, bushes and trees. I wish they would duplicate some of the colors. I bought a set of 120 watercolor pencils which was great, but I ran out of favorite colors and had to purchase the set again. The colors did not blend good. I love that this set has 180 colors with endless possibilities of blending for different colors close to what I was looking for. I waited to leave a review but waited, because I was having issues with the tips breaking off and I had read reviews about others having that problem. I was using a manual sharpener and evening being real easy I still had a few that would break. I decided to try an electric pencil sharpener and it worked great! I have yet to have a tip break. I was really relieved. I have used a couple of colors, green and blue a lot, so now I'm blending colors together and it works great. This set does come with plastic trays and the corners have chips in some, but, they are much stronger that the watercolor trays from another company. I would definitely buy this set again and would not hesitate to give as a gift or recommend someone purchasing it.

Prisma quality without the price
I absolutely love these. The packaging is beautiful. The color variety is fantastic, the quality is great. They sharpen nicely. The pigments are so good. They're so smooth and have beautiful pigment. I think they're a fantastic alternative to prisma pencils. These are going to be so much fun and they're easy to use with how the packaging is laid out.

Good, soft, blendible colors
I want to write a review of these colored pencils because I wasn't sure if I'd like them because of the price. they are considerably less expensive than the higher quality pencils (Brutfuner and prismacolor), but what I have found while coloring with them is that they're soft enough to have a good rich color and I can use them for heavy color or light color. Also they blend well. Now be sure, I am a cadual colorist. I color because I enjoy it. If you want a good set of colors for a goof price, condifr thr Kalour prnvild.

Very nice set! Would make fabulous gift
This is an amazing set. Beautifully and securely packaged with bubble wrap around the box and then into a cardboard box. There was a little piece of foam on top of the pencils. They were not moving! The red tin box is matte red, amazing color, much more attractive than the listing pictures. This would make such a great gift for a hobbyist colorer. There are so so so many colors and found that to be too overwhelming. I returned them for this reason. I am new and have only used generic crayolas. There is a 3-fold big cardstock color swatch paper. The pencils are very attractive but color core seems a little off from barrel color. A huge and complete variety of colors. Definitely a wide core. I do not know how they sharpen. These would be good for a beginner who wants a lot of colors to get started. For a budget set, this seems like a great one. Just because it wasn't for me doesn't mean it wouldn't for you!

You won’t be disappointed!
Wow! Nice vibrant colors. The pencils are smooth and be blended without leaving harsh demarcations. It comes with a color chart that you fill in yourself for easy reference and room on the side to make notes if you want. Wish I had started off with these nice pencils with such a wide array in each category of color. Like the trays and metal box they come in, and in the lid has a color chart as well. I’ll repurpose them. I’m impressed.

Kalour 180 Premium Colored Pencil Set - EXCELLENT
Pencils arrived in very quick time, especially allowing for COVID delays which were expected and I have experienced with orders from other sellers. NOW TO THE PENCILS. Bought this set of pencils for my wife as she is the person in the family who spends time colouring to relieve her stress. She stated that this set of pencils is better than some of the more expensive sets which I have previously purchased for her. So good that she has requested that I purchase another set.

Kalour
The whole shipping process should be handled with more care as so many pencil got broken and it’s so frustrating when all you do is sharpen the pencils and you can’t use them to their full potential. The color range is great but doesn’t make up for the broken pencils

A bargain pencil that works on all paper qualities
There my favourite pencils they work in every book ive bought so far with bright pignents and they blend and layer with great colour selection. Ive coloured in johanna basford, hanna karlzon rita berman and some of those small square cozy books that are so popular ill show what ive coloured on here. I love the tins so i only collect the tinned kalour pencils. I love how they look stacked in my cuboard and the paper inside for swatching them. I colour alot so prismacolour wouldnt last long for me and i cant burn through money like that and i enjoy how these look which you can see in different colouring books ive coloured that ive attached to this review. I dont get much breakage at all and they sharpen well. There better than Arrtx, brutfuner, black widow and hiforny ive compared them to and these pencils dont work in all the paper textures and have low pigments or are scratchy so i know to stick to kalour. I wanted a pencil that works on everything and does it all instead of messing about with a different brand for this book or just for that book etc.
