Flying Models: Rubber, CO2, Electric & Micro Radio Control - Tips & Techniques for Beginner & Expert, Book 2

Good Book
This is an excellent book that is full of information. I would give it five stars but a lot of the information is outdated. Supply sources he provides are out of business. A new edition would be most welcome, or perhaps a larger volume that was not only updated but included his first book. Rubber Powered Model Airplanes is the best beginners guide out there and is frequently referred to in this book, but if you don't have a copy of it handy you will wish you had. I'd say get both books and read the earlier one first. Much of the information in both volumes is timeless if you are doing rubber powered models. If you're just doing RC you might be better off looking for something much more recent.

This book will get you started on the right track to building and flying stick and tissue airplanes. I recommend it highly.

Flying Models
Wonderful little book. Written by a master modeler for modelers in an easy to read and comprehend style. It's a really good read for anyone who has or wants to have enough skill to build and trim their own model planes. Far too many have succumbed to the dumbed down practice if buying someone else's toys these days, it seems. This book will go a long way toward correcting that deficiency.

No trial and error
Perfect for the beginner getting into model flight. A lot of basics usually learned the hard way - trial and error

Good introductory book.
If you really want to get involved in flying model aircraft, ones that you actually build yourself, then you should have this book. If you have learned to fly on models that were build by someone else and would like to try your hand at seeing something that you've created take to the sky, then you should have this book. If you're an old time modeler that would enjoy learning a few surprising new tricks, then you will enjoy reading this book. If you have a youngster ( grandchild, niece or nephew, student that might find this an introduction to math and science, or what have you.) then perhaps you should give them this book (after you read it).I liked the book.

Five Stars
Clear but no designs. Refers to balsa kits that I don't have.

Great book, poor quality print work.
Excellent book, packed with information and tips, I cannot fault the content, but...considering this is the 21st century the print quality is appalling. William Caxton could have done a better job, it seems to have been scanned using a potato and then printed electronically, probably with the same potato. Blurry pictures and illustrations with accompanying equally blurry text. Not what I would expect when paying for a new book. Disappointing.

Essential reading.
Essential reading for anybody interested in building stick and tissue models. If this is your thing then you would not regret buying this book. Really needs to be read in conjunction with Book 1 as there are frequent cross references back to it. Very readable in a clear engaging style.
