Necessary for preserving the snakes, does what it states.
The home improvement stores used to sell this but they don't now. The plumbing supply charges crazy prices and mostly in gallon+ sizes for other snake lubricants. For the home owner that may have to snake their lines a few times a year this size is convenient.I had an older neglected snake that had a moderate amount of rusting so using it was pretty messy. The rust would flake off leaving a grimy mess. Applied a modest amount with a towe and rubbed over the snake to remove as much of the surface rust as possible. After about 10 minutes of working this in the snake looked nearly new. Does what it states!

I needed something for my Ridgid auger and this is not it
I can't take a picture of the directions because the bottle is misshaped and sunken...but this is what it says:Pour the Snake-Oil into the drum and rotate to contact as much of the cable as possible, then drain off excess.So this is made to be poured into a drum for professional equipment not regular augers. Since I paid for it, I will try to use it somehow but it's very liquid-y so will be messy.
