Was looking around on Amazon for a new craft to try. This project was easy and fun. It is small for a rug and I'm guessing the person I made it for will probably hang it on a wall. I found the printing on the canvas hard to follow, but using the chart was a cinch. I watched a video to get the hang of it. I suggest starting from the bottom right corner and doing one row at a time right to left. That helps with keeping the yarn from other squares out of your way. I thought the tool seemed a bit flimsy and bought one that had a wooden handle. That one was too wide and made pushing it through each square more of an effort than I wanted to exert. I went back to the one that come with the kit and it worked fine. It comes with a lot of yarn, so if you mess up a bit here and there don't worry about it. I've now ordered a kit that makes a pillow. It's a nice, mindless craft and I'm glad I gave it a try.

I love that this was a pre-stamped canvas, which makes working the yarn much easier than counting boxes

The he color on the fabric are on by a lot but the grid helps everytime is there comes very organized and you can tell what it is when it’s done instead of ig looking like just a bunch of colored bunched together

The kit pros:Plenty of yarn, great yarn quality, the picture has great color combinations, quality canvas, print is visible, tool provided worked great, edging stitched and held up, provided map was easy to read.Neutral: yarn was different lengths but adds depth. Many strands were very long. No need to cut them, plenty of yarn provided.Cons: the canvas was 60x77 not 60x80.I just started left to right and the horse on the right lost 3 lines. The paint was useless because it wasn’t centered and more. Two cut off from one side and one from the other. But I just followed the paper provided. It was very clear to use.

The black is NOT black. It is a horrible, off blackish, dirty dark grayish ... I'm not really sure what it is, but it is not ject black as shown in this photo. I am not done with it, but I already don't like it due to the colors not being correct.

I was so excited to purchase this rug kit. You get everything you need to make a rug but it will not be the one you see in the pictures.I saw the color that they had for the "black" and it was grey, so all that was not used. I purchased some cheap black yarn, made a cardboard cutting tool and made my own black strips to use. I used between 1/3 and 1/2 of my skein.The canvas is printed with the colors but they are very hard to figure out. I tried to follow the chart but it gets very confusing, I thought I was on one line at one end but with the canvas colors the other end was different. So I just kind of followed as best I could.There are 2 greens, 2 browns, 2 yellows and 2 orange colors that are very similar and hard to tell what goes where. So I just did a mix.After I was partly through, I went back and put some of the browns in where I thought looked good to kind of have some separation between petals.A bigger chart would be most helpful.Since I could think for myself and figure out what looked best, all that wasn't an a huge issue but still irritating.My 2 main issues are the edges and color. When hooking at the edges you are likely to pull out the mesh from the edging. I really wish it was sewn in better because I really had to be careful and I still pulled a little.The color is shown as black and should be black. This rug would look so different if I actually used their yarn that was sent.I have shown pics to let you see the difference.If purchasing, be prepared to spend a bit more for the right color. I also wish I would have used another yellow.

LOVE this hook rug! The colors in the sunflower are much more vibrant than the picture on the package. Once completed, it is just beautiful. Was going to hang on our front door, but afraid it will fade from the afternoon sun. So, decided to put it on the inside of the door. Gorgeous.
