Love this book! I wish I had hundreds of years to make everything!

This is a beautiful collection of patterns. For each, the author presents an "inspiration item" and discusses the heritage. She outlines her modifications and presents a well-written pattern to follow. If you're looking for hand-holding throughout each step of the process, this may not be the book for you. Norwegian patterns typically make assumptions that you understand certain techniques. However, there is a fairly extensive glossary and instruction section.

each pattern has a small history so you know its origins.the patterns are beautiful photographed and well written.i also have Mittens from Around Norway.both books are really worth having.

Another great book in this series. I love colourwork and especially mittens so I am very happy with the inclusion of quite a few lovely mitten patterns. Also a good variety of garments and accessories.
