MOMO Race Airleather Shift Knob, Black

I bought this to replace the OEM shift knob on my Subaru WRX which came loose. I was a little worried when I saw the allen screws because they came loose on a shift knob for a previous car I had. After three months of driving with this knob, it hasn't come lose in the least bit. Keep in mind though, I try to treat the shift knob like an 'egg' in general but there are times it gets handled hard. What I did like as well was that the knob came with an assortment of little rubber covers for the top of the shift shaft. This helps the knob fit tight and also protects the original threading in case you need it in the future. Finally, the leather on the knob feels great and it matches my interior very well. This product is pricey but I found it to be very high quality.

Very nice quality and was better than my stock 04' wrx knob. Bought it to match up with the momo steering wheel. The shifter is just alil bit bigger than I thought however it gives my kartboy short shifter a much more noticeable feel. When i did put in the allen screws and you do want them tight, it didnt allow the bottom clasp to thread on easy so i had to keep them looser. There are several different rubber bushings that come with it to make it fit anything and that is the piece that really helps it stick on tight so im not too worried about it coming off when im hard shifting. The brushed metal is nice too! Matches my interior car trim. 100$ is still a bit much but... it MOMO! Very happy with it!

Feels and looks great... far too light for my taste though. Bit of a pain to install as well. Not sure why these can't be universal.

Looks fantastic. Feels great in hand. The weighting is perfect and gives the shifts a smoother quality. HUGE step up from the stock BMW shift knob. Held up very well after lots of use with nothing more than a very occasional cleaning. Installation was quick and easy and it never came loose or out of alignment.

This is a great knob because it's not entirely metal... With a convertible, shift knobs tend to turn into a hot iron and can be very uncomfortable when it comes time to drive. With the perforated leather on the top, it makes it a bit more comfortable. The only reason I give this 4 stars is because the allen screws that are used to hold this knob in place can come loose. A little loctite might help, but I haven't done this yet so I can't comment on how well it works. It fits nicely and blends well with my mustang's interior. Overall, I would recommend, but there can be similar knobs had for cheaper.

I modified the supplied rubber bushing by cutting off the top. This made it possible to slide it down the shifter and mount the knob lower (right at the top of the stock shift boot) rather than 2 inches up where it would otherwise sit.The knob mounts nice and tight using the supplied rubber bushing. I am not sure if people with problems fitting forgot to use the bushing?So far very happy - I will modify my review if anything changes.

Install is easy and like the rest say every few months you do have to tighten the screws. The knob itself feels very cheap, the leather provides no cushion and the Momo logo is a cheap peace of nylon glued on the top that started to peel off! in terms of usability my stock knob was heavier than this one!

Very nice product however fit and finish can be had on with some knockoff brands so in that regard I believe this product is a bit pricey. Looks great once installed but for me to utilize in my Jaguar XJR I had to conduct some modifications. My old knob had to be destroyed in order to take the mounting sleeve out of it. I also had to cut my existing sleeve off so I could re-install down to the height of the new knob install point. On the Momo knob I had to take the appropriate inner sleeve and cut the top off so it would slide done on the shift shaft and over my original sleeve. In order to make the entire assembly solid (so the knob did not have room to move back and forth ( which I am sure is related to other comments I have read about it coming loose) I ran a piece of electrical tape around the Momo sleeve one time and then wrapped up the entire length of the shaft to match the circumference of the Momo sleeve. With such a pricey item Momo could have eliminated all this mess for me by making sleeve inserts that filled the entire length of their knob... might have cost them about $.20 more to do.
