Astro 222 ONYX Die Grinder Kit, 2-Piece

I buy these 4 sets at a time. I keep extra new ones because you never know when one will die. I bought 4 sets in October 2018 and put this set in use in late January 2019. They are in a enclosed trailer that I run road calls with on semi trucks. The straight grinder was used maybe 2 times it doesn’t have a scratch on it. The seller won’t help me out in the warranty. Instead I’ve got to contact Astro pay shipping to them and be without it for who knows how long. I don’t have the time to hunt receipts print them off contact Astro then pay shipping on a brand new tool. Going back to ingersoll rand. At least they don’t jack a customer around that spends over 300.00 in one order.

I love Astro products. They're fairly affordable and decent quality. The only thing I'm a little bummed about is that my 26 gallon air compressor doesn't stop running when I'm using these grinders. It can't keep up with the air consumption. I'm not sure if it's my compressor or the air tools.

The one with 90 degree its not working, im oversea so I loose money on this

These are much better than expected.

Not too sure on the 1/2 hp. Doesn’t feel as powerful as my coworkers 1/3 ho subtext. But overall not bad.

Haven't had them long. I use daily. Overall they work great for the price. The adjustable speed on the 90 isnt the greatest. The handles aren't metal and will melt if you sit it on something just welded.

I was pleased with the product until I received it. The packaging was smashed and the 90 degree grinder didn't work at all. I'm going to return it and see about getting another one.

I own a couple of Astro Pneumatic tools and everything I had bought before these I had liked so when I was in need of a new 90 degree die grinder it was hard to pass up getting a 90 degree and a straight grinder for little more than just the 90. Compared to my previous Ingersoll Rand Edge series and Chicago Pneumatic die grinders, I find this one has a little less torque than the others did when brand new and occasionally this one locks up when you pull the trigger until you spin the head slightly manually and then it works normally. That said once it's going it does the job just fine but it doesn't exactly give me confidence that this tool will last over the long haul. If it ever fails, slows down or experiences any issues I'll update this review but for now as long as it keeps running it's worth a solid 4 stars considering the cost of this set.
