My daughter picked out this color and it was so pretty but lasted for such a short time. We re-did the color a month later and it was practically gone after a wash or two. Other semi permanent colors we've tried last longer so it's something about this color in particular. Still pretty for the short time u have it...

I've been using Ion Aqua Brilliance semi-permanent cream for 6 years. It's easy to use - just put on some salon gloves and message gently into your hair, making sure you have good coverage. I then put on a shower cap and leave it in for 45 - 60 minutes. Of course, that's just what works for me. You need to gauge how long it will take to do the job for your hair. If you've got dark hair, don't expect it to work for you. For me, it lasts about 8 weeks in total but gradually fades. I refresh it every six weeks or so myself because I like the bright aqua which covers gray and brown differently so leaves a nice blend of tints. Not for everyone, but this 63-year-old woman has gotten a zillion complements from youngsters to older folks who ask how I do it. Love it. I'd rather be blue than gray....

I received my product quick (3days I think) product was exactly what I ordered and in great condition! I tested out just a strip of hair,I have darker brown hair so figured it wouldn't really Pop unless I lighten first. I mixed it with a little conditioner to thin it out as others have said its really thick. I left it on about 45min. It looks like a very dark brown/black from far away,up close u can see more of the purple and in the sun you can notice it much more! It could be really great as is if your wanting a more subtle look, but if (like me) you want a more dramatic look deffinetly make sure you lighten first!! Other then that I love the product! Easy to wipe off surfaces, AND skin! shocking I know! Its the first product I've seen do that and I've had lots of experience with many brands, colors & types of hair dyeing products! Also it has a great smell, the whole time! Other products smell OK at first or have a hint of a fruit smell mixed with the strong chemical smell, but this is nothing like the norm. It isn't overwhelming, or eye burning, you don't have to open a window, or fear you just killed half of your brain cells lol! It really is great. I only gave it 4 ⭐ until I'm able to see the full outcome of the dye, once I lighten my hair & can spend more time & effort on it!!

- You need 3 tubes for shoulder length hair and much more for thick or longer hair. This stuff is the consistency of toothpaste- Dilute with WATER, not conditioner. I guess some conditioners work -- mine did NOT. Water definitely works fine.Why? My first try, I diluted with Tresemme conditioner, mixed very well, and carefully applied with a brush. The results were large sections that were white, lavender, or silver. Ugh.The second time, I diluted with *water*, mixed very well, and applied with a brush (same as before). The color came out almost perfectly evenly -- a bright purple everywhere.The color was much brighter than I wanted, and it didn't fade! Over three weeks of shampooing my hair x2 every time I showered, it finally faded just a bit to the point where people called it "lavender". Just know that if you dye over platinum bleached hair, you will not have this pale color from the beginning. I've attached a few photos of the change in color over time. First photo (glasses) is after one week -- second photo (in the dress) is after 1 month. This stuff doesn't budge.A lovely bonus: If you bleach over this dye, it turns a bright greenish-blue color (mostly green), like Listerine. Seriously! It's almost impossible to avoid doing this just a little at the roots when you touch them up and it's ... pretty distressing. So don't plan on just bleaching this color out of your hair, and don't touch up your roots unless you have new dye on hand.This dye stays in hair well, and fades true to color. I've now let it fade (still shampooing x2 with hot water) for six weeks and it's still an even pale purple. I will definitely use it again if I want purple -- but probably only as streaks or ombre because of the issue with bleaching.

Bought this when I was getting my hair done soon and had no time to wait for Pravana to ship.I had natural medium brown hair. About five weeks ago, I ordered this and manic panic in voodoo blue and took both to the salon that was dying my hair. they chose to use the manic panic instead of this product. They prelightened pieces of my hair before application. my hair came out a nice teal blue, but after several weeks it had faded to a dingy green (which I expected. Blue tones are notoriously hard to keep in hair).So last night, I remembered I had this stuff and broke it out. i mixed it in a coloring bowl with some conditioner, and applied with a colorists brush. the ion did exactly what Id hoped. it made the blue green parts of my hair much more blue and fresh, but largely did not dye my untreated hair sections.The color seems to be more predictable than manic panic, but it also seems like it dried out my hair more. Since I didn't bleach it this time, I'm sure some deep conditioning treatments will have it lucious again in no time.some tips: wear gloves, put a dark towel around your neck in case of drips, and use acetone based nail polish remover to get stains out of your skin and bathroom.
