Manly P. Hall is foundation to understanding who we are
Some may be put off by this book because M. P. Hall and his works are so heavily associated with Free Masonry. The truth of Hall was that he gave tirelessly of himself to introduce and mentor anyone who was sincerely interested in the 'secrets' of how mankind worked. This book is really the most comprehensive of all his books. But, if you think you wouldn't need to know what he has to say, then think of traveling and not taking the time to learn about the architecture or culture you are seeing, or having a friend who is always asking spiritual questions and never comprehending what they mean. Hall's work is not the Torah or the Bible but it is the rest of the story. By becoming knowledgeable of what Hall sees and understands, we, the readers become more knowledgeable about our world and exactly what is being expressed in it by those who work outside of the great religious and sacred traditions.

my concern is that ALL the illustrations are blurry and useless...
Just got the book. The typography is easy to read and the book seems complete but my concern is that ALL the illustrations are blurry and basically useless as they are impossible to read. Why is that? It concerns me so much I am considering returning the book even though the content is more important than the illustrations I suppose. It does leave me disappointed however. Otherwise I would have rated it a 5 star. :(

So disappointing that illustrations have been reduced to black and white
In a tome of this importance, it seems near sacrilege to reproduce the text without the full color images so painstakingly curated by the original publisher. The images produced in this version are blurred and lack any ability to convey information necessary to understand them.Nowhere can I find the hardcover (blue cover) edition which is the gold standard for this work. All others took the cheap way out and subsequently destroyed much of the original impact by printing all images in black and white. One star for content and one star for actually including the illustrations at all.(some editions do not)

If you really want an "Unabridged" version of this book, look elsewhere.
Claims to be unabridged (definition: "Containing the original content; not condensed"). Multiple reviewers have stated that the included illustrations are blurry and in black and white, unlike the original, which had color illustrations. Color, being EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to the symbolism and description in the material. It is very telling that this "illustrated edition" does not let you see any of the illustrations in Amazon's Look Inside preview. This product should be taken down for misrepresenting itself as the complete work when it instead besmirches it.Highly recommend steering clear of this one and seeking out an edition with color illustrations, and I'm hoping that the publisher of this one realizes their mistake and strives to do better, assuming that this was not done with ill or greedy intent.
