The original Soul / funk / rare-groove DJ but so much more - the book builds beautifully ( like Norman’s sets ) starting with Good Times carnival, family, football, NYC to closing with Shake n Finger pop, High on Hope and current day - recommended read for any lovers of proper music and proper people.

This is a great account, very honest and unlike a lot of biographies, actually had enough pages to talk about Normans childhood/growing up/career without seeming like it had been chopped down to fit in. Loved it!

This is a fantastic read, so well written. Each page is so easy to read and makes you smile, as each chapter unravels you realise that Norman contribution not only to music but the very fabric of British cultural is intertwined within each generation.

Really enjoyed this engrossing life story. He created a thrilling roll ercoaster of a ride thtough a lifetime of escapades and musical occasions to keep any jazz fan completely happy. Also earned an MBE on the way. WELL DONE HIM !!!
