Exceptional book, easy to read but with profound insights
I found myself at a new office (still working for the same company), but essentially working solo. I looked for a guide to help me through transitioning from working on an in-person team to "remote." This book was a gamechanger. It's so well researched, doesn't act like there's a simple solution, but really provided deep, profound insights that genuinely have helped me be happier, more fulfilled, and more productive. A couple of simple examples that were key for me: you've got to build in little social interactions like saying hi to people you run into (social grooming) it seems useless but man does it help with isolation; you've got to manage yourself, which I've adapted to seeing myself as a worker that I actively manage (this helped me be more objective in how I manage my strengths and weaknesses). I know I've minced these examples and maybe they won't sound profound to you. But I guarantee that you will find in these pages something that makes your life materially better. To the author: thank you so much for writing this book.

Absolutely Brilliant!!!
I, like many have had some major changes in my working life. We own a hair salon and during the lockdown have been forced to close due to national restrictions.Whilst being at home dealing with the paperwork and planning I fell in to many of the same traps as detailed in this book. What I love about this book is how relatable it is and how nicely written it was. I cant remember being that engrossed in a book that I read it all in 1 day.Highly recommend!!

The book I’ve been waiting for
I’ve been self-employed for over ten years now and this is the most useful book I’ve read on the topic (by a very long way). Working alone is hard, even for introverts. Thank you for writing it - it has already made a big difference to how I work and feel.
