I'm getting my first Betta and wanted a basic book on care and especially what type of tank to buy. After looking at all the books available and reading the reviews I chose this one despite there were no reviews to go by. I based my decision on the book being well organized. There are individual chapters and each is broken down as to the subject covered. It is an overview on the different aspect of care of the Betta. However, the book does not go into any depth. It tells the minimum recommendation of tank capacity but there is nothing about which shape of tank is best. The information was minimal. I wanted live plants, but although the book states this would be a good idea, there is no mention of types of plants or what to look buy. There are very few pictures, all black and white and no resource list at the end. All of the information in the book is easily available on line. Had I been able to look at the book first I would not have bought it. I will need to research all my questions on line as the book is far from comprehensive

Was attracted to the book by the amazing front cover photo unfortunately no photos inside but I'm sure it's very informative.

Very detailed in some areas and then nothing in others.No pictures at all of the different varieties of Betta or what the various ailments you might come across look like and then quite long articles on protein skimmers that I person keeping one male Betta wouldn’t generally need
